Q:   What is the selection process for MBA at KIIT School of Management?
A:

The selection process for the MBA programme at KIIT School of Management usually involves several stages:

  1. Entrance Exam: Candidates often need to appear for a recognised management entrance exam like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, or GMAT. These scores are typically used as a primary screening criterion.
  2. Application: After the exam, candidates need to apply to KIIT School of Management by submitting their scores and application forms online through the institute's admission portal within the stipulated deadlines.
  3. Group Discussion (GD) or Written Ability Test (WAT): Shortlisted candidates are invited for GD or WAT. This phase evaluates candidates' communication skills, critical thinking, and their ability to express ideas coherently.

  5. Final Selection: The final selection is based on a composite score that considers various parameters like entrance exam scores, academic performance, GD/WAT, PI, and sometimes work experience.

The exact process and weightage given to each stage may vary from year to year. It's advisable to visit the official website of KIIT School of Management or contact their admissions office for the most updated and specific details regarding their MBA selection process.

A good infrastructure, skilled teachers, and promising placements.
Placements: Placement is pretty much decent, better than other private colleges. You just need to focus on yourself and try to develop a skill. Highest package that was offered is 52 LPA, and the lowest is somewhere around 5-6 LPA. Many good companies, such as Adobe, Deloitte, and HighRadius, do recruit a bunch of students, so overall it is good. Computer Science is a very good branch, and it's the future.
Infrastructure: Rooms are cleaned every day. Campus is very clean, you won't find any littering around the campus or corridors. There are multiple bins where you can throw garbage. Wi-Fi connectivity is good throughout the campus. You won't find any network issues. The central library is accessible 24/7, you can study peacefully, and there are many books that you can access. There is a sports complex with many gyms.
Faculty: The teachers are quite knowledgeable, helpful, and they are quite smart. They know how to teach properly, they won't only teach from PPT and go, they will explain everything in detail and give proper efforts to every student. You can ask them doubts not only related to academics, but they can also give you good life lessons.

KIIT is good. Although the fees are a bit much compared to other universities, it is worth it.
Placements: Almost 80%-90% of students get placed each year. This year, 60%-65% of students are already placed. Many go for a doctorate and higher studies. Some go for UPSC. Many companies come, and they have 5-6 students for each company, it's not like engineering, where a huge number of people get placed, but placements are there. So no need to worry much. The salary may not be that high at the beginning, but as time passes, it will increase just like in engineering.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the course and hostel is good. There are two girls' hostels. Maintenance is okay. Hostel food is not nice everywhere. Wi-Fi is available everywhere. The campus library is a little bit small, but the central library is huge, spacious, and very pretty.
Faculty: The curriculum is quite relevant. Different courses are available that help students become experts in the field in all possible ways. Well, I am just in 1st semester, so I don't know much about the difficulty level of the exams. The faculty is helpful.

Good hostel life, but compromises campus life.
Placements: Placements in this college are good and above average. Most students get placements in good companies but please don't go on the saying that this college gives 100% placements. Around 80% of students get placed here. Top recruiting companies here are Deloitte, Dell, TCS, etc. The highest salary package offered is 64 LPA and the average salary package offered is 8.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very bad of this college, it's written on the website that it is a very big campus. But, the whole campus is divided and buildings are very far from each other and in between there are public roads. But there is every kind of facility present there like Wi-Fi, labs, smart classrooms, library, etc. Hostel offers are quite decent and food they offer is above average, some will like while some will not like. The only flaws in the hostel are the in and out time which varies from hostel to hostel. Medical and sports facilities are also good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and they are well qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is also good the way they teach is also good. Course curriculum is quite decent when compared to other colleges. Semester exams are quite difficult as they keep on rising per semester. About 95% of the students easily pass.
Other: I chose this course because the market of this CSE course is on peak right now when compared to other courses. Best thing about this course is this course makes students industry-ready. Everything is good about this course and it keeps on updating itself. They organise average events and fests nothing special about this, crowd is heavy here, connectivity is good here. They provide scholarship during the entrance exam.

Good college if you are dedicated.
Placements: The placement on the campus is great. Companies do come, and everyone gets equal opportunity. It is just a matter of fact that whoever has better skills and grabs the opportunity. College supports the companies to come to the campus. Big companies like Google and Microsoft do not come directly.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is indeed one of the best, and the hostels are amazing with great facilities like AC messes and wonderful transportation within the campus. There are various societies on campus that can give a large scope of opportunities and can help to learn a lot.
Faculty: The professors are good and helpful if you are a student serious about studies. There are wonderful facilities for research and development. The curriculum is also the latest one with great lab facilities and classrooms. The semester exams are easy to crack with the guidance of the teachers and regular attendance in classes.

KIIT is a waste of money, prefer other colleges.
Placements: Just shows 100% placement, but reality is something else. A huge no of students are admitted and only a few percent get good placement. They just show that they have good companies, but this is not the reality. Placement is completely rubbish, especially CSE branch, rather prefer other branches, as they are giving good placement.
Infrastructure: Everything is nice. Wi-Fi problem in new CSE campus. Very poor Wi-Fi in new campus. Very difficult to find classes. Located in a village, so transport problems and many other problems. No company comes here for placement, and they show all false data. Hence, it's better to avoid this college and prefer other colleges.
Faculty: Decent faculty. Odia students are given preference. They even get good marks, and sometimes teachers start teaching in Odia, and also want us to learn Odia to study. Please don't come to this college. Teachers don't give us right information. Some of them are good, but mostly are very bad. Even the higher authorities are also bad. They are all rubbish. Some teachers are good.
Other: Every day, something or other events are organised. A huge no of societies and clubs are there.

The college is crowded with minimal management. They only want money.
Placements: The placement rate is 100%, but in mass recruiters, the highest package is 32 LPA and the lowest is 1.4 LPA, with an average of around 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Accenture and Providence. Only about 10-15 students have secured internships so far. I am in my third year, and till now, I don't think more than two companies have visited. Companies come and hire for roles such as SDE, analyst, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are well-equipped. Hostels are good, but the food is very bad. The Wi-Fi never works properly, and it's always very messy around. Bathrooms are never clean, although if you tell the warden, they do something about it. There is alcohol and weed all around.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, but they deduct a lot of marks. They always focus on attendance and provide marks based on that only. The semester exams are of medium difficulty, but because of the competition, you need to maintain a 9+ CGPA, or you will never be shortlisted by any company.
Other: The best thing here is the infrastructure. The management isn't good, and they need to work on the quality of education. Fests aren't that good, it's too crowded.
