In order to get admission into the MAKAUT MSc programme, students register and appear for the CET exam. The application form for the same is available on the university's official website. After filling out the form, the candidates are required to pay the below-mentioned application fees:

The MAKAUT MSc admission process begins with the application process. Candidates seeking admission must fill out the application form for the accepted exam, i.e., CET. The steps to apply are as follows:

1. Go to the official website of the institute and click on 'Apply Online for CET'.

2. Register by adding the required details.

3. Check for the registration number received via SMS or email.

4. Login and fill out the application form.

5. Pay the application fee and submit the form.

No, admission to MAKAUT is based on entrance exams for courses such as BTech. Candidates wanting to get admission to MAKAUT for BTech must qualify West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) exam and WBJEE Counselling. Those willing to get admission in the second year must appear for JELET (for Lateral Entry). MAKAUT also accepts JEE Main exam for BTech admission.

MAKAUT cutoff 2023 for admission to the BTech course has been over after Round 3 of JEE Main Seat Allotment result. Considering the MAKAUT last-round cutoff, the closing ranks for BTech was 108551 for Techno Main Salt Lake, 25645 for HIT - Haldia Institute of Technology, 36213 for AOT- Academy of Technology. During the MAKAUT cutoff 2023, B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was the most competitive specialisation. Candidates seeking admission to the MSc programmes of MAKAUT must meet the course-specific eligibility requirements. As per the eligibility criteria, any students who has passed a valid UG degree from a UGC-recognised university is eligible to apply for MAKAUT MSc programme.

After completing the MAKAUT MSc application process,  students must take part in the subsequent counselling process. The university conducts several counselling rounds based on the availability of the MSc seats. For each round of counselling, a new rank list is released with an updated rank and status. These ranks are allocated based on a student's performance in the CET exam conducted by the university itself.
