NUSRL Ranchi Admission Overview 2025
NLU Ranchi admissions 2025 are entrance-based. The university considers the scores in the CLAT exam, followed by CLAT Counselling for admission to NLU Ranchi courses. NUSRL offers BA LLB (Hons) at the UG level and LLM at the PG level. Besides, the university also offers PhD course based on university entrance exam scores. STEP 1: NUSRL Ranchi Application Process 2025
For NLU Ranchi admissions to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes, registrations are done through CLAT. Candidates must fill out the CLAT application form. Then there is a One-time payment which is INR 42,500, it is mandatory. Apart from that there is a hostel fee which is 2.39 Lakh for the entire course duration.

As per last three-year cutoff for BA LLB (Hons) for General Category Home State Quota, the cutoff saw a fluctuating trend. The closing rank in 2022 was 3726 decreasing to 4339 in 2023. In 2024, the cutoff was again improved at 4257.
For LLM, the cutoff was 2213 in 2022 moving downwards to 4031 in 2023 and then finally 3587 in 2024. Looking at the cutoff data, aspirants with state domicile have a chance of getting admission with 3000 rank in CLAT.
The seat intake is the accepting capcity for a particular course. Out of the total seats, 50% of them are reserved for students from Jharkhand and remaining 50% for students from other states. Below is course-wise NLU Ranchi seat intake:

CLAT cutoff 2024 is released for various categories including General, OBC, SC and ST amongst others. As per the CLAT 2024 the All India closing ranks for the General category stood at 1432. For OBC category, the closing ranks stood at 2733.
Going as per the aforementioned cutoffs, candidate with an AIR 2428 and OBC 278 is eligible for the OBC catgeory and not the General category. Since as of now, only Round 3 Seat Allotment has been released, candidates with the mentioned AIR can wait until remaining rounds for the further cutoffs.
For NLU Ranchi BA LLB (Hons), the last round closing rank is 1667 for the General category under All India Quota. For the LL.M. in Intellectual Property Rights course, the closing rank is 1597 for the General category All India candidates.
