Panjab University cutoff for MBA course is based on CAT scores. Candidates who wish to apply for Panjab University admissions to MBA course, must have a valid scores in CAT exam. Candidates must also meet the overall as well as the sectional CAT cutoff. Going as per the past year trends, the overall Panjab University MBA cutoff has been consistent at 85 percentile, whereas for sectional cutoff it is 50 percentile each for General category students. Chandigarh University offers MBA and MBA Human Resource through UBS Chandigarh. For MBA HR, candidates must have 85 percentile each for overall as well as sectional cutoffs.

Candidates seeking admission to BSc at Panjab University are required to meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination with at least 40% aggregate in the qualifying exam and passing marks in English.

Student must have out of the three elective subjects offered by him/ her (excepting Anthropology) passed at least two Science subjects. Provided that a student shall be eligible to opt the subject of:

• CS, if he/ she has passed Class 12 with Physics, Commerce/ Economics/ Mathematics and Computer-related subjects such as CS/ IT etc. as one of the elective or optional subjects.
• Biochemistry, if he/ she has passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology
• A student may opt for CS in BSc (Non-Medical) as one of the elective subjects with the combination of Mathematics, Physics, CS.

The answer is both yes and no. admission to all MBA courses is entrance-based at all the MBA offering institutes of PU. While for an Integrated MBA, students need a valid score in JEE Main exam, admission to UBS and UIAMS is subject to a valid score in CATor PU METexams, respectively. Students who wish to get into the specialisations or courses offered by UIAMS are required to appear for PU MET exam and those who wish to get into UBS are required to have a valid score in CAT exam.

 For a few courses, such as MA, BA, MLib, etc., admissions are completely based on merit in the last qualifying examination. Students must go through the Panjab University CHD-conducted/ national-level entrances and then appear for the university-level selection rounds for final admission at Panjab University.

Yes, admission to the Bachelor of Engineering programmes at PU is based on candidates' performance in JEE Main exam followed by counselling conducted by JAC Chandigarh. BE is available at five PU-affiliated colleges which are part of JAC Chandigarh counselling.  Panjab University BSc admission is entrance-based. The applicants only have to pass Class 12 with relevant subjects to be eligibile for admission. The final selection is based on the entrance exam score. Hence, candidates scoring less than 50% in Class 12 are eligible to apply for the course. But, they will have to clear the qualifying exam cut-off. In case someone fails to secure a seat at Panjab University for BSc, they can still pursue BSc at other colleges/universities offering the course. Panjab University offers LLM as one year course as well as two year course. The syllabus for both is different, although both the courses contain similar subjects. Studies in Panjab University are at par with the leading Educational Institutes in our country. It was even the highest ranked Indian Institute for a while according to a survey by Times Higher education. Should have passed FA/F.Sc./ A level or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks. Should have passed the Law Admission Test (LAT) with 50% passing marks and with a validity date for admission. Must have appeared in the PU Admission Test conducted by Punjab University. To be eligible for the three-year PU LLB course, a candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 45% aggregate marks or 40% marks for SC/ST candidates.

For Admission to Punjab University's regular UG and PG courses including, MBA, BA, MA, BTech, etc., its mandate for candidates to appear for course wise entrance exam. However, the University does offers certain Diploma courses where you can enroll via merit based on 12th class. 

Candidates who have either passed Class 12 examination or BCom Part- I (old scheme) of Panjab University with at least 45% aggregate or who have passed the Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate or any other equivalent examination are eligible to apply for BCom admission at Panjab University. Hence, a candidate scoring less than 50% in Class 12 is not eligible to apply for BCom at Panjab University. Such candidates can go for other universities and colleges offering a BCom. They can also pursue BCom in distance mode. BCom aspirants can also check out various colleges offering online BCom courses.

Candidates seeking admission to Panjab University BCom course are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates who have either passed Class 12 examination or BCom Part- I (old scheme) of Panjab University with at least 45% aggregate or who have passed the Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate or any other equivalent examination can apply for admission to the BCom programme offered at Panjab University.
