School of Planning and Architecture was established in 1941. This deemed to be university also goes by the name of SPA Delhi. Under an Act of Parliament, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, the Institute is recognised as an 'Institution of National Importance'. Formerly established as a Department of Architecture of Delhi Polytechnic, SPA New Delhi is accredited by COA and is approved by MHRD.
