TNNLU BA LLB is a five-year integrated programme approved by Bar Council of India (BCI). The undergraduate programme was commenced in 2012 and is offered in a regular mode. The BA LLB is a regular honors degree offered as a rigorous residential programme.
TNNLU BA LLB (Hons) admission is based on merit, subject to rules of reservation, through the Common Law Admission Test. Additionally, candidates must go through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) counseling process conducted by CNLU for final seat allotment. Students must also have basic BA LLB eligibility criteria required by the university to grant admission. The Consortium of NLUs will release the NLU-wise CLAT cut-off to indicate the minimum marks (or ranks) students need to secure in their given category to be considered for BA LLB admission. The BA LLB (Hons) eligibility criteria is as follows:
Eligibility Criteria: Class 12 from any recognized board with a minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade (40% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes).

Step 2: TNNLU CLAT Selection Process
The registered candidates are required to appear for the CLAT entrance exam for admission to BA LLB programmes. After that, candidates willing to get admission in BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes, have to go through the CLAT counselling process for acceptance of seats. To confirm the allotment, candidates have to accept the seat allotment, after that the allotment will be frozen.
Step 3: CLAT Counselling
The counselling process of CLAT 2025 will be conducted in online mode on the official website of Consortium of NLUs; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac. CLAT Counselling Registration 2025 will be done before the CLAT Counselling Process 2025 begins. The Consortium of NLUs will release the NLU-wise CLAT cut-off for the 5-year integrated after each round. The cutoffs are category-specific and indicate the minimum marks (or ranks) one needs to secure in one's given category to be considered for admission.

Candidates who will accept the allotted seat need to upload all the required documents on the official portal. - Registration - The candidate could register by entering their name, mobile number, and email id. Also, select and confirm a password for the newly created applicant account.
- Login - Log in to access the application form.
- Select the programme of study - After logging in, the first thing was to select the programme of study 5-year LLB or one-year LLB
- Fill the form - There were different fields like personal information, communication details, qualifying examination status, exam centre preferences (THREE centres can be selected in the order of preference), and reservation. All fields needed to be filled. Check what all documents were needed to be uploaded in the prescribed specification (refer to the table below).
The TNNLU BA LLB (H) application fee is the CLAT 2025 application fee. The fees are different as per the categories candidates belong to. For General/OBC/PWD/PIO/OCI/NRI, the application fee is INR 4,000 and for SC/ST/BPL category, the application fee is INR 3,500. Extra charges of INR 500 are applicable if candidates want to obtain previous years' CLAT question papers from the exam authority.
