CLAT Notification 2026: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) published the CLAT Second Merit List 2026 on January 22, 2026. The Consortium published the CLAT First Merit List 2026 on January 7, 2026. Candidates who completed their CLAT Counselling Registration 2026 will only be allowed to participate in the counselling process. Aspirants must note that CLAT Counselling Process is completely online. The CLAT 2026 exam was held on December 7, 2025. The CLAT 2026 Result was declared after the release of the final answer key on December 16, 2025.

CLAT 2026 Notification (Provisional Answer Key & Objection Window)
The Consortium has released the notification on release of CLAT Provisional Answer Key and opening of CLAT Objection Window.
There will be five rounds of counselling. During CLAT 2025 Admission, the number of rounds were reduced to three. But until then the CLAT Counselling use to be of five rounds only.
No, you can not appear for counselling if you have not cleared CLAT Exam.
Apart from the other important documents required for CLAT Counselling, the CLAT Scorecard is must. Candidates must ensure to cross check the details mentioned on the scorecard before downloading it. In case of discrepancies, reach out to the consortium before the counselling day.

CLAT 2026 Notification (Provisional Answer Key Release Date OUT)
The consortium will release the official notification regarding the CLAT Provisional Answer Key release date. CLAT Answer Key 2026 to be released on December 10, at 5:00 pm. Candidates will be able to challenge the answer key till December 12, 5:00 pm. Check the official notice below.

The Consortium of National Law Universities has revised the reservation criteria for NALSAR Hyderabad for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). All candidates who have applied for SC-TL must update their reservation by December 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

How to Check CLAT 2026 Counselling and Seat Allotment Result?
Candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to check the CLAT seat allotment result:
- Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in
- Enter mobile number & password.
- Click on Login.
- Check the seat allotment result.
Note: There are 3, 213 seats for UG courses, 1,217 seats for PG. Those who will qualifiy CLAT 2026 will be shortlisted for admission rounds after they complete counseling registration and eligibility-related documentation.
Candidates must note that the applications for CLAT 2026 was released online only. CLAT 2026 Application Process can be done by visiting the official website; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates must fill the CLAT Application Form 2026 on or before the last date.

Freeze option in CLAT Counselling means accept the NLU seat, lock it, and opt-out of the upgrade process. In this case, the fee becomes non-refundable and has to be paid before the last date. The candidate is removed from the counseling process for future rounds.

Yes, the CLAT counselling fee is refundable if no seat is allotted or if a student withdraws before the final date. A penalty of INR 5,000 may be applied if a seat is frozen and later withdrawn after May 30th.

There will be a total of 5 rounds for CLAT 2026. Students who make it to the merit list and who receive an invitation via email/SMS can register and pay the counselling fee. Students have to pay a fee of INR 30,000 for General and INR 20,000 for ST/SC/OBC/BC/EWS/PwD, for CLAT examination.

The NLU Shimla CLAT Cutoff 2026 has been released for round 2 for multiple categories under both the All India and Home State quota. The cutoff was out in the form of opening and closing ranks.
