Best Placement Department in Maharashtra.

Placements: In Department of Statistics, SPPU placement is almost 100%, In last batch all of the students get job in various companies as a data analyst, statistician, Programmer etc. The highest package GOT to students is 10 lac per annum and the lowest package is 2.4 lac and average salary offered is 6 lac per annum. Top recruiting companies are Novartis, TCS, Sutherland, Infosys, Cytel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, JP Morgan, Wipro etc. Department students get job role as Statistical Analyst, Statistical Programmer etc. Pune University is Best in all over Maharashtra in Placement, This is top department in terms of placement.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good, The building of department is old but looks very good its like european universities. The department has 2 floors, On ground floor there is a big Library for students where students can get books, news papers and journel. Also Waiting room for guests and some classrooms are on ground floor. On first floor there are offices and on top floor there is big computer lab for practicals and classrooms. In University there is free Wi-Fi. Hostel is good but not best, Mess is available but not good, Hostel is available for all students. There is one health center for students which provide hour medical facility. There is big ground, we can play lot of games, sports.

Faculty: The teachers are very good, some teachers help a lot and some can't help as in all colleges, The teachers are highly qualified and some teachers are highly qualified on paper only. Teachers have good knowledge of subject. They learns new things always. The teaching quality is good but you need to do lot of preparation by self. Self study is most important. The course curriculum is relevant to make the student industry ready.

Other: I choose this course because this course has lot of opportunities in industry, This course is very challenging. And in placement Statistics is Best in market. There should be exam for teachers also because some teachers have no knowledge. Department conduct various events like Dahihandi, There is annual fest which is very good students enjoy lots, sports games are very excellent. Government and some companies provide scholarship to needy students.

University of Pune rocks, statistics is awesome, nice placements.

Placements: MU Sigma, placement of our batch was quite smooth and as the data Science wave is going on. Our faculty members helped us a lot, with respect to basics of statistics and mathematics.Also infrastructure here is appropriate for any research work.Also there were industrial visits for us to know how the industry works. Various data hackathons were organized so that we get the hands on, on many statistical analysis tools and softwares.

Infrastructure: Classrooms were equipped with LMS (Learning Management System), Library is stocked with the latest journals and research papers. Campus has Wi-Fi. Also computer labs are equipped with high end configuration. Hostel accommodation is very good and the quality of food is good.

Faculty: Faculty members are Ph.D. holders and are working on many consulting and research projects. We got the chance to work on live project. Many guest lectures were organized to provide the latest updates of industry like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence. Our curriculum is also closely linked to industry requirements.

Best university in Maharashtra for knowledge, placements and future opportunities.

Placements: In Savitribai Phule Pune University, there are better placement opportunities compared to the other state universities in Maharashtra. The PUMBA (Pune University Management) students got the highest package up to 18 lacs per annum in the previous year, and there is about 90% of the placement in this department. The department standing in the second number, that is the department of statistics here, also has the highest package of 9 lacs and nearly 80% of the students got placed. Thereafter, the computer department, chemical, also have good placements, but in the art department, there is very low placement.

Infrastructure: Pune University's campus is about 460-acres, and there is very good infrastructure, and also paved road all over. The law department, commerce, and biotechnology are new buildings and are very good. The main building of the university is very old and heritage place. Many people come to see the infrastructure of old buildings and old departments. There is a Jaykar library which is the largest library in Maharashtra. There are 5-floors, at a time, thousands of students can study there. The entire university campus has free Wi-Fi. There is a very large ground, and there are 9 boys hostels and 9 girls hostels. On the campus, there is a hospital for student and staff. 4 canteens are there in the university, very good hostel facility, and canteen facility.

Faculty: Each department has its course curriculum, they are independent of each other. The faculty of all the departments are very good. I think the best faculty are available at only Pune University. They are very helpful, and most of them have PhD. The Pune University is like a sea of knowledge. There are the best ever teachers. The non-teaching staff are also good. The course curriculum is best for industries. Hence, many industries hire the Pune University's students.

Other: The Pune University is situated near Chaturshrungi temple. You can get PMT bus, auto, cab for the university from anywhere in Pune. The area is very good. The environment of Pune University is awesome. From Shivaji Nagar, the distance to the college is of 3km. If you take admission in Pune University, you must take admission for hostel also. You can have the best hostel life you can experience here. The fee is very low, nearly only 100 per month for the hostel. One more thing is that all the admissions are based on the entrance test.

MSc in statistics is a two year full time program inorder to pursue this course at UniPune University one should qualify in ICET test and cut off is 85%-95% and fee structure is 3000 to 4000

I really don’t think so because you need to have studied statistics as core/general subject in one of the years of graduation. But since now you need to write entrance test, if you clear it then you can get the admission.
