Yes,  Madras University MBA admission is completely on the basis of merit in TANCET. Candidates with a score equal to or more than the cutoff marks further become eligible for TANCET counselling. The seat allotment procedure is carried out during the counselling process only. There is no other provision for admission. The candidates for the MBA distance course are admitted based on the scores in the last qualifying exam, which is the UG or equivalent degree. Moreover, it is necessary that each of the aspirants meets the course-specific eligibility criteria.

Madras University MBA admissions are entirely entrance-based. To secure a seat to MBA course at Madras University, candidates must qualify for TANCET exam with a valid score.
