According to stream-wise and overall NIRF reports 2024 released by the University, the course-wise number of students placed over the past three years during University of Hyderabad placements is presented below:

University of Hyderabad admission to most of the courses is based on the entrance exam conducted by the UoH. In addition to this, it also accepts several national-level entrance exams for admission to MBA, MCA M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes. While for MBA, the university accepts admission only through its own entrance exam, for various UG and PG courses, the university accepts admission through CUET UG and CUET-PG entrance exams.

The highest package offered during University of Hyderabad placements 2023 for its School of Computing and Information Sciences (SCIS) stood at INR 23 LPA. Earlier, the highest package offered during UoH SCIS placements 2022 stood at INR 15 LPA.

The application fee for General and EWS category students is INR 600 and INR 550, respectively. On the other hand, the fee for OBC and SC/ ST/ PWD students is INR 400 and INR 275, respectively. In addition to this, students are also required to pay the entrance-exam specific application fee relevant to the course they are interested in. National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the CUET 2025 exam date anytime soon at nta.ac.in. It is expected that CUET UG 2025 exam will be held in May/June. The exam will be conducted in multiple slots each day. The number of CUET exam slots will depend upon the number of candidates registered for the exam.

JEE Main 2025 exam date for Session 1 was January 22 to January 31, 2025, and Session was conducted from April 2 to April 9, 2025. NTA (National Testing Agency) announced the JEE Main 2025 exam date. The seat allotment results for Round 4 to Round 6 begain in July 2025.

Hyderabad University offers a wide range of PG and doctorate courses at the University campus under its 12 schools and 41 departments. On the other hand, it also offers integrated MA and MSc programmes are offered via the College of Integrated Studies. The University conducts an entrance exam for admission to MSc, MA, MPA, MFA, MPH, Executive MBA, MBA and PhD programmes. However, it also accepts several national-level entrance exams for MTech, MBA and PhD admissions. University of Hyderabad admission generally begins in the month of June and August every year across all its courses except for the MBA. Followed by the same, the application process generally closes till October. For MBA, however, the applications are open between November and January. Post both the application processes, students are required to go through the seat allocation, interview rounds and other selection criteria conducted by the University for Final Seat Allotment through its merit lists releases.

The Department of Communication at the University of Hyderabad is famous for being recognised as one of the best centers for doctoral research in communication and media studies.

The department offers two post-graduate programs, MA in Media Practice/Media Studies, and Ph.D. in Communication.
