VELS University Chennai Admission Process and Important Dates 2025

VELS University admissions are open to all courses for the academic year 2025-26. The university offers a wide range of programmes to students at the UG, PG, PhD, and diploma levels. VELS University Pallavaram Chennai offers various programmes such as BTech, BSc, MTech, MBA, etc. VELS University admission 2025 is purely merit-based, determined by Class 12 standard marks. The university conducts its own VELS Scholarship Admission Test (V-SAT) to provide scholarship admission to 60+ UG courses. Additionally, VISTAS Chennai also accepts national-level entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, XAT, GATE, etc., for admission to MBA and MTech courses, respectively.

The mode of VELS University Pallavaram Chennai admissions is online. Candidates willing to get admission must take part in the VISTAS admission process before the last date of application. Further, candidates seeking admission to the BTech programme at Vistas Pallavaram must be Class 12 passed in relevant subjects with at least 45% aggregate based on specialisation. In addition to this, a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate score is applicable for some of the specialisations. Satisfied with the faculty, infrastructure could be improved, and good placements last year.

Placements: I just joined my batch a few months ago. I don’t know the placement percentage, but there are 63 students enrolled in my course. I also don’t know the package system yet. The recruiting companies for my course are SYASANS and ZOHO, and the top roles are Senior Microbiologist and Lab Technician.

Infrastructure: The whole college is divided into particular blocks for certain courses. Some newly built blocks are very comfortable, but the block I am in, the first building made, is honestly not the ideal block to have classrooms in. I come from Lucknow, and it is sort of difficult for me at the start, but now I have adjusted to hostel life. It has been a hard journey, but overall, the hostel is good.

Faculty: The best thing about my course and college is my teachers. They are very helpful and listen to all sorts of complaints, especially my mentor, she is the best. Teaching-wise, they explain topics clearly so they enter our minds. Right now, I am having my semester exams for the first time, and they have been moderately easy.

Other: I chose this course because I want to move abroad and become a Senior Microbiologist, as I am fond of Biology. The only thing I would wish to improve about the college is the infrastructure of my block.

Good faculty and better studies.

Placements: Legal side roles are offered in limited companies only. The highest package for my course is more than 1 lakh per semester. 100% of students are placed in my course. We have three sections in each batch. Top recruiters are Zoho Corporation, HDFC Bank, and other companies.

Infrastructure: We have labs, a moot court hall, classroom projectors, and a library for our course. The quality of food is okay but not very hygienic. They provide both veg and non-veg from the same canteen, and a medical room is available. Sports and games are conducted every semester in our college.

Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful overall. They have limited knowledge of their subjects only, but they clarify doubts. The curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are a little difficult, but the passing percentage is very high in our college. They also conduct regular exams.

Absolutely very good college you can go for it if you get a scholarship .

Placements: Totally 92 percentage of students are placed in my college but we can't predict what kind of job they will get some may I get placed in a very good company or some way even get placed in normal company and they are very few top companies will come for the campus interview like accenture company etc. But only three company will come which are like top they will provide you intention in the summer holidays but you have to pay separately for the term internship top role in my core is like data analyst.

Infrastructure: The food will be good but the feels will be or nearly one Lacs per annum labs and classroom will be very good the bench will also be very clean and they will be SMART board projector etc. In every classes there is no Wi-Fi connection the library will be common for all the department also you will be very good.

Faculty: The teachers are very knowledgeable but they can't cover the portions example totally 5 unit will be there and they will complete only three, the passing percentage will be 40 and it is not that much difficult to pass in the exam. But you should get at least 18 mark in the internal out of 40 so that you can pass or else you will fails in the semester.

Other: I choose vels University because they provide scholarship for most of the people and it is very value for the money you can save a lot of money but you have to work a lot to maintain that's scholarship.

A short review of VELS School of Engineering.

Placements: Don't need to worry about placements. VELS is providing good placements, 90% of the students particularly. They have been doing good in this part for the recent few years. VELS is a trusted university. They are offering placements from good companies, salary is not so high but I can say that VELS is one of the top 10 colleges in Chennai that is offering good placements with a decent salary package.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are good. Hostel is not a good option not satisfied with my college hostel but it's not that bad also. Well, there are also not much canteens present in my college. Mess food is good. So, if you ask me an overall review of my college's infrastructure and facilities it is average but manageable.

Faculty: Faculty members are very friendly, liberal, and lovable. Teaching at VELS is so trusted and good. That's the main part I like about my college. They will complete the syllabus within the limited time so no need to worry about studies. But exams are a little pressuring here maybe there you will lack.

It is a good college with memory space.

Placements: 70% of students get placed in our college. The top companies for our course are IBM, HCL, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Accenture, and Wipro. The lowest package offered is 4 LPA and the highest package is 12 LPA. Nearly 80% of students got internships there. Roles offered are software developer and data analyst.

Infrastructure: We have good labs with a Wi-Fi connection. All computers are high in standards. We have a huge library which is helpful for students to learn. We can yearly sports activities to support physical skills.

Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and highly qualified with PhD degrees. Many teachers published research papers. The syllabus is well-equipped and correlated with current trends. The pass percentage is above 70% in our college. The course is aligned with subject trends. Courses are taught well.

Other: I want to become a data analyst so I chose BCA in the college. We have many tech-related festivals which encourage students technical skills.

Satisfied with the college and good placements.

Placements: There are 50 students in the class. The minimum salary offered is Rs. 10,000 per month and the maximum is 1 LPA. Companies for recruiting are not that many only some top companies, others are startups, and not that many salaried companies. Maximum students do not get that many internships. Top role offered is BPO.

Infrastructure: Computer labs have AC. It is a good and cool lab system. Wi-Fi is awesome and it has good speed but only in lab, you can access the phones only by without knowing and sneaky. The library is fine. The hostel is average. Canteen provides snack items, which are good and meals are average.

Faculty: Few teachers are good for me and others are average. Teaching quality is good. They don't make students industry-ready, we have to be self-ready. MCA has 4 semesters, 3 semesters, and the final semester has only one project.

Other: I chose this course MCA because I have already done BCA I have computer knowledge, so I took the MCA. The best thing about the course is we can learn programming and computer knowledge. Events are made very grand. Culturals are made for 3 days which is very fun.

VELS University Chennai Infrastructure

VELS University campus is located in Pallavaram Chennai and offers a safe environment to students. The college offers all essential facilities for students including academic blocks a library collaboration spaces, café, convenience store etc. VISTAS Campus has a sprawling built-up area of 29 lakh sq ft. with 207 laboratories 352 classrooms and 7 auditoriums. The university provides hostel facilities with 10 boys’ hostels and 5 girls’ hostels. It is equipped with 110 smart classrooms 12 seminar halls 14 lecture capturing systems 228 LCDs 125 printers and 2800 computers & laptops for student use. VELS also offers high-speed internet facilities and a Wi-Fi-enabled campus. In addition there are 4 health centres and many other student support facilities across campus.

The college campus provides great environment for students. The college encourages students to participate in extra-curricular activities including sports cultural events etc. The college has an up-to-date infrastructure dedicated members of faculty disciplined campus opportunities for co-curricular and extracurricular activities and systematically developed procedures highlighting personality development of every student.
