B.E. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2028
Offered by MCE - Malnad College of Engineering

The happy Malnad, turning point of your life.
Placements: Our college has good placement, very good companies will approach, it all depends on students if they work hard, surely they get placed. Top companies for our course include Infosys, Wipro, Ultratech, and TCS, which are some of the companies listed above, and are excellent companies.
Infrastructure: As you know, Civil is the hardware course. Here, you get to know about how buildings are built, how the loads are distributed among the buildings, the concentration of materials used in a building, etc. Overall, the course I have chosen is the interesting course that I personally love.
Faculty: There are different faculty members for each subject that they will be taking, faculty members are well educated, and the majority are holding double degrees, so this helps a lot to gain knowledge and advice. They are very kind to students. Exams are easy if we study well.

B.E. in Information Science and Engineering - Batch of 2028
Offered by MCE - Malnad College of Engineering

Good infrastructure, supportive faculty, decent placement with scope for improvement.
Placements: Top recruiting companies in our college, like L&T, Mahindra, and Mercedes, all come to the placement. They provide very good packages, and I belong to Information Science engineering, which has a minimum of 5 LPA, and it is very good.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are satisfactory with clean rooms, 24/7 water, and electricity supply. Wi-Fi connectivity and adequate security, the misfit quality coverage is good, both offering vegetarian and non-vegetarian options while the canteen provides snacks and refreshment.
Faculty: The curriculum is relevant and structured according to the university guidelines, covering both core ASC subjects and digital electronics communication systems embedded system, and select emerging technologies, while the syllabus provides strong theoretical education.
Other: The college hosts various technical fests, cultural events, sports meets, and club activities, creating a lively campus environment with a friendly, connected, diverse crowd, the campus surroundings, and student-friendly facilities in the nearby Townsend city, and through public transport.

B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) - Batch of 2027
Offered by JSS Academy of Technical Education

Just an average college, join if you plan on going through CET, management is not worth it.
Placements: Placements are pretty decent although it's been average. In the previous year due to the recession, those passing out in 2025 will be the first batch in AIML. The college states that the highest package is 43 LPA, and average salary is 4 LPA. The companies that come for placements are pretty good.
Infrastructure: Labs are good and classrooms are decent. But there are more trees than students in the college. Library also provides a wide range of course books to choose from. They have Wi-Fi but the network is bad. They might be using jammers but don't understand why because it's an engineering college. Hostel food is good, but the girl's hostel is inside campus and the curfew is at 7:00 PM. Honesty looks like jail to me but the boy's hostel is outside and its actually good. Its curfew is around 10.30 PM.
Faculty: Just like every other college, some faculty members are good and some are bad. But engineering is mostly about self-study so faculty members do not matter. But some faculty members will give you a hard time. The curriculum is basically VTU which is kind of old-school at this point. VTU exam correction is strict and students should learn extra skills to make them industry-ready.
Other: They do one fest, once a year which is called Verve and that will be actually good. But there is no campus or not much social life and the crowd is very bad.

The college is very beautiful. We have supportive staff members.
Placements: In our branch, 90 percent of students got placements. The highest package offered is 36 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 5 LPA. Companies like Toyota, Renault, Tata, etc., hire students. All students get internships in top companies like Bosch.
Infrastructure: The hostel environment is very good. The food served is superb. coming to the Wi-Fi, we will get the network easily and quickly. Our college is good at sports.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. I would rate 5 stars for teaching quality. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Exams are easy. The pass percentage is 40 percent. Faculty members are very good and supportive. They help students 24x7.

B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2029
Offered by Dayananda Sagar College Of Engineering
4.2

I am satisfied with the college, but I wanted some more good infrastructure.
Placements: More than 45 percent of students get placed every year. The highest package offered is 60 LPA, and the lowest package is 25 LPA. Many students get placed at a good price. The top recruiting companies for our course are Bharat Electronics, Bosch, ABB, Google, etc. More than 25 percent of students got internships, which is not accurate, and it may be more or less. The top roles offered are manager and CEO of a startup. We can also start to create our own business in the non-IT field.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good. The infrastructure is old, and it's a very old building. Some classrooms are in very bad conditions, but nowadays, they are working on problems and sorting them out. I do not stay in a hostel, but a few of my friends say that's good compared to any other college. There are two hotels in our college, one is the NRI hostel, which has a good infrastructure and good room space, but the con is that they don't have proper food facilities. The other is an Indian hostel, which has good food and is well-maintained.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly, and they teach us well with their knowledgeable sense. Overall, the experience is average, but they can further improve it to make it more accurate. The course curriculum is relevant, but it is not that accurate. It purely depends on teachers who have industry experience and have come to the teaching field. Exams are tougher compared to other colleges because the material is set, but at VTU, the material will be challenging if we don't study well. The pass percentage is 50 out of 100 percent.
Other: It was my personal opinion to choose this course because I wanted to move into this field, which is non-IT. The best thing about college is that we will get to meet many people from many other states and many other countries. The campus is very young and filled with nature. It should improve the teaching methodologies related to the course and make students industry-ready, because that is very important in the future. Many fests are going on every semester. It organises many inter-college and intra-college fests.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2025

Good faculty, strong placements, and decent campus facilities.
Placements: In our MCA batch (2023–2025), around 85% of students get placed. The highest package is 8.6 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average is 5.5 LPA. Top recruiters include Infosys, TCS, and other companies. About 75% of students receive internships at companies such as Capgemini, IBM, and Wipro, with roles such as software developer, data analyst, and full-stack developer.
Infrastructure: Our MCA department has well-equipped labs, smart classrooms, Wi-Fi access, and a digital library with research resources. The hostel provides decent rooms, but the food is not very good. It is a better department compared to others in our college. We have medical facilities with cooperative nurses and doctors. Every department has a sports day, and we play a variety of sports for that.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, delivering concepts clearly. The curriculum is industry-relevant, covering both theoretical and practical skills. Semester exams are moderately difficult, with a pass percentage of around 75–85%.
Other: Overall, it is one of the foundations of our lives.

As its KCET rank is 44,000, getting admission in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch of University BDT College of Engineering (UBDTCE), Davanagere, could be out of reach. The closing ranks for CSE at UBDTCE used to be considerably lower in earlier years.
