What is the 10-digit Enrolment Number in the IGNOU Student Login 2025?
Each of the students registering for IGNOU admission get a unique enrolment number. This is an important credential, which is required to sign in on the IGNOU student login page 2025. Earlier, it was a nine-digit number. The enrolment number of old students is also now made to be a 10-digit number. Students can log on to the IGNOU Samarth portal by using this number. Candidates who are selected for admission need to confirm their seat by paying the course fee. Here are few things that students will recieve after taking admission in IGNOU:
- Once a students get admission into IGNOU, he or she will recieve the enrollment number and ID for future login to the samarth portal of the university.
- Based on the choice made by the candidate while filling the application form, he or she will then recieve the study material. Soft copy is available on the official website of the university.
- Registered students also recieve a mail from the regional or study centre for counselling. It is an induction ceremony where the course is introduced to the students.
- A schedule of classes is also shared through mail. For any query regarding classes, students must contact their study centre.
IGNOU admission to MBA was subject to a valid score in IGNOU OPENMAT exam till 2021. However, for the admission 2021 onwards, IGNOU cancelled the OPENMAT exam and eligible candidates were able to directly apply for the MBA courses via the online registration link before the extended deadline. However, as per the data collated from various sources, IGNOU seems to have scrapped the OPENMAT exam. IGNOU MBA admission 2024 is subject to merit scores obtained by the students in the last qualifying degree.
IGNOU Student Login 2025: How to Login using IGNOU Enrolment Number?
Logging in to the IGNOU student portal is a three-step process. As the enrolment number is now of 10-digits, IGNOU has opened a new portal for new candidates (admitted in/after Jan 2024). New students might not be able to log in through the login window on the official website (ignou.ac.in). IGNOU Re-Registration Login 2025
Students pursuing a course from the open university can apply for another course by re-registration. In addition, re-registration also has to be done for each semester exam. It can be done through the IGNOU student login page or from the re-registration website. The steps to be followed for IGNOU Re-Registration login are:
Step 1: Go to the IGNOU re-registration website (onlinerr.ignou.ac.in/).
Step 2: Read the instructions, check the box and click on “Proceed for Re-Registration”.
Step 3: On the sign-in page, enter the enrolment number, password, and captcha.
Step 4: Click on the login button.
Students who have applied for B.Ed, MBA or PB BSc Nursing must appear for the required entrance and check if they've qualified it. Followed by application, application fee payment and entrance, students who have completed their registration can check their status by entering their registration number on the IGNOU admission status page. The university also notifies students about their admission confirmation or rejection through an email and a text message in the next two months.
IGNOU admission 2025 will open soon for July Session. The applications open online on the official website of the university. The next admission cycle will open for July session. Admissions for July session is likely continue till July for ODL and Online courses.
Students receive their IGNOU ID card and study materials after completing the admission process. Once the admission is confirmed, students can download their digital ID card from the IGNOU Samarth Portal. However, students who wish to get the physical ID card need to visit the study centre or regional centre for the same. It may take some time.
The timeline for receiving the study material depends on the mode selected by the aspirants during the application process. The delivery time may be longder depending on the location of the candidates.
IGNOU admission cycle opens twice in a year i.e. January and July. The registrations for January session usually begins in December and close by March. The July session for ODL/ Online programmes begin in May and continue till July. The mode of application is online for all the courses.
