For the OBC category students, CSE turned out to be the most competitive BTech specialisation, with first and last rounds closing ranks of 1236 and 1274. Compared to the first round, the cutoff ranks saw a shift in the closing ranks after each round. The second most in-demand BTech specialisation was Data Science and Engineering, with a lenient last-round cutoff rank of 1679. The first-round cutoff rank for the same specialisation was 1608. Compared to the above categories, the competition was tough for the students belonging to the SC category in the AI quota. Considering the JEE Advanced cutoff 2024, the cutoff ranks saw a significant shift in their closing ranks for most of the BTech courses from the first to the concluding round for the ST AI category students. BTech specialisations such as Computer Science and Engineering and Data Science and Engineering, with the lowest differences in their closing ranks, suggest that the demand for these courses was more stable as compared to other courses.
