CBSE is all set to conduct the first term CBSE 10th Board Exams 2022 in October/November 2021 in online mode. Here are some preparation tips to ace the exams.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the CBSE 10th first term board exams 2022 in October/November 2021 in online mode. The decision to conduct board exams twice a year was taken by the board as it could not conduct the annual exams last year due to the rise of Covid-19 pandemic across the nation.

According to the new exam pattern released by the board, the entire CBSE 10th syllabus 2022 has been divided into two terms. These changes has resulted in higher anxiety amongst students but with selection of proper study material and proper guidance, they can sail through the examinations smoothly and score good marks in all subjects.

Shiksha.com shares some important preparation tips for students to help them ace the term-1 board exams. Let’s read them below:

Table of contents
  • Know the syllabus and make study schedule
  • Know the exam pattern
  • Go through the NCERT books thoroughly
  • Practice and solve CBSE Class 10 sample papers
  • Enhance your analytical knowledge
  • Take regular small breaks and care for your health

Know the syllabus and make study schedule

Term 1 exams will include 50 percent syllabus. Thus, students must know the chapters for every subject and the weightage assigned to them. The exams will take place in Nov-Dec and students must be done with their syllabus well ahead in time so that they have time for revision too. There will be eight chapters in Mathematics, six in Science, eight in Social studies, and thirteen in English. Allocate time to each chapter and make a realistic study schedule.

Know the exam pattern

The CBSE 10th term 1 exams 2022 will contain only objective questions or multiple choice questions. CBSE has released CBSE 10th sample question papers to provide an idea to students on the types of questions that will be asked in exams. There are other publishers too that have released sample question papers for practice of students. These question papers will also make students familiar with the exam pattern like marking scheme, duration of the exams etc. Students can download the official CBSE Class 10 sample papers by clicking on the link provided below.

Go through the NCERT books thoroughly

NCERT are the base books for CBSE board exams. The entire syllabus is covered in these books. Students are advised to go through the NCERT books thoroughly before they begin to refer other reference books.

Practice and solve CBSE Class 10 sample papers

Official CBSE 10th sample papers 2022 can be downloaded by clicking on the link provided. The first term exams will follow the same exam pattern as given in the sample papers. Students can get to know the marking scheme, duration of exams, types of questions to be asked along with the options and more. It is suggested that students practice solving as many sample papers as possible to help them score well.

Enhance your analytical knowledge

Case-study-based questions were introduced in 2020 as a practical approach to test students’ analytical knowledge. These are not direct fact-based questions but judge the students’ capabilities to apply the concepts. Case study-based questions will form a significant part of term-1 and term-2 exams this year. Thus, students are advised to practice solving them.

Take regular small breaks and care for your health

Last but not least, take good care of your health. Eat healthy food, take sound sleep and take small breaks during study hours. Keep your body and brain healthy by indulging in some sport, or meditation. This will help you return to studies with a fresh mind and concentrate well.

As per the CBSE circular, the term-2 examinations will be held in March-April 2022. This examination will examine the rest 50 per cent of the syllabus in the subjective pattern. However, if the pandemic condition won’t allow, term 2 can also be an objective exam. If subjective exam happens then a great switch is required in the preparation plan for the term 2 exams.
