CBSE Class 12 On Screen Marking: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from this year has introduced on screen marking for evaluation of Class 12 answer sheet. This process has been introduced to speed up the evaluation and improve transparency. As a part of this, CBSE Class 12 answer sheets will be evaluated digitally. The answer sheets of CBSE Class 10 will be evaluated in Physical mode. CBSE conducts the board exams every year across India and 26 countries, catering to nearly 46 lakh students. This makes the evaluation process large-scale and time-intensive. CBSE 12th digital evaluation of answer sheets will help in saving time. This will also help in reducing the errors made during the physical checking of answer copies. CBSE Class 12 on screen marking is a digital marking system where scanned versions of answer sheets are marked directly on-screen instead of being marked physically. This process has been adopted in CBSE Class 12 exam for quality and faster marking.

CBSE Class 12 On Screen Marking: What schools need to do?

The Board has created the IDs of teachers who have updated their profiles on the OASIS portal for checking of answer sheets. CBSE conducted the mock evaluation of on-screen marking to familiarise teachers with the process. They have also conducted training sessions of teachers on this. The schools need the following.

  • A computer lab with a Public Static IP
  • PCs or laptops with Windows OS 8 or above, at least 4 GB RAM, and 1 GB free space on the C drive
  • Updated internet browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Internet Explorer
  • Adobe Reader installed
  • Internet connectivity with a minimum speed of 2 Mbps
  • Uninterrupted power supply
