B.E. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2016
Offered by Alpha College of Engineering, Bangalore
1.2
1Placements1Infrastructure2Faculty1Crowd & Campus Life1Value for Money
No campus, no facilities, and bad reputation.
Placements: There were no placements for our seniors and the placement training started from our batch. Then in 2016, only 2 companies came to our college for placements for the very first time. 5 students were selected from mechanical, computer science, and information science department. The minimum salary allotted was 10k and the maximum salary was 25k. IBM and Tech Mahindra were the two companies which came to our college. They were included as freshers in their companies. They had to wait for several months to get that position in companies after a delay of 6-7 months.
Infrastructure: All the departments have their own Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms. But they have a single library and no medical facilities. They have a place for sports to be conducted but there is a single room for the indoor games. The quality of food is very low, below the average and expensive. They newly constructed hostel in the campus is at the very entrance of the gate. The hostel rooms are good and good food for the hostellers and the fee is Rs. 50000 per year including the food price. When I was allotted a seat in the college, the infrastructure was very poor but after my graduation, the infrastructure has developed and there is a new building for the civil department.
Faculty: All the faculty members were not qualified when I was in the 1st semester but now all the faculty members are well-qualified and have done their M.Tech. But the quality of teaching is still the same. There were no appropriate methods used by the faculty regarding teaching. 1:20 is the teacher to students ratio0. Industry exposure was for the mechanical department only. The course curriculum was a bit useful.
Other: I have provided you with the exact information with decimal errors. The college also has a bad impression in the area for students fighting among themselves as they appear in the media for the controversies, once in a semester. The old graduated and NFTC students still come to the college without any reason but for only fighting and for rowdyism. The college should not exist as the rules regarding the infrastructure. They do not have enough space to have such an institution. The campus for high schools and PUC college is far better than that college. The authorities who come to investigate every year takes a bribe and does nothing but files good report regarding the college in the VTU centre.
