GATE exam pattern and syllabus for EE
The GATE 2023 examination is conducted online with a GATE question paper focussing on three major domains – General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and Electrical Engineering specific sections. The difficulty level of the exams is proposed to be moderate and there is negative marking for every wrong answer. One-third of a mark is deducted for every wrong answer for a one mark question and two-thirds of marks are deducted for a two-mark question. The total number of questions is 65 and the exam is for 100 marks. The total time duration for completing the exam is three hours. Important dates for GATE exam 2023
The exam is jointly conducted by either of the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), namely IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee or Indian Institute for Science, Bangalore (IISC Bangalore), on a rotational basis. The GATE 2023 eligibility criteria to appear for the EE exam is as follows:
- Applicant should be a graduate (BE or B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering
- Students in the final year of BE or BTech programme with no backlogs can also apply for GATE 2023
- There is no age limit to appear for the exam
Registrations for the GATE 2023 exam are likely to begin in the first week of September 2021 and will go on until the second week of October. However, late submission will be allowed for one more week with an additional late fee. Later, in the first week of January 2023, the GATE admit card will be released that candidates could download online for the exms likely to be held in the second and third week of February. GATE 2023 results are expected to be declared in the third week of March. However, the scorecards will be available for download from the last week of March.
