GATE exam pattern and syllabus for EE
The GATE 2026 examination is conducted online with a GATE question paper focussing on three major domains – General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and Electrical Engineering specific sections. The question paper difficulty remains moderate to difficult and there is negative marking for every wrong answer. One-third of a mark is deducted for every wrong answer for a one mark question and two-thirds of marks are deducted for a two-mark question. Total number of questions is 65 and exam is for 100 marks.
