A college that has a brilliant and knowledgeable faculty and makes students industry-ready.

Placements: In my college, 80% of the students have applied for placements. Among them, half of the students get placed in onshore placements. Some students get 3 LPA, and some get approximately 2 LPA. This year, in 2025, companies like Bajaj, PNB, and Wipro come for the college placements. Also, this year, approximately 30 to 35 students get the chance to have internships in companies like PNB, Wipro, TCS, and Tech Mahindra.

Infrastructure: In my college, there are a lot of facilities. On the first floor, there is a sports arena that is especially for the college students. On the fifth floor, there is a big library with all the study materials. Facilities that the college provides to the students are amazing, and they show how the college supporting the students in learning and building their skills.

Faculty: In my college, teachers are very supportive. My faculty members are well-educated and have a high-level Ph.D. degree knowledge from foreign universities. Courses my college provides are very clear and help students to do scientific knowledge. Coming about exams, exams are not competitive, which means they help students to learn and give exams very clarity. A student having 60% plus is eligible to study in the next semesters.

Other: I have chosen this B.Sc. Physics Honours course because this college has the best faculty and facilities to become industry-ready.

The closest thing to a "Student of the year" College.

Placements: The placement record of this college is not bad. About half of the students get placed, with the highest package being around 13 lakhs and the average package being around 7 lakhs. Top recruiters include TCS, Indigo, and Axis Bank. However, most students who major in Physics do so to pursue higher studies, so internships are not very common.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities at this college are excellent, by which I mean they are top of the class. The classrooms and laboratories have the latest furniture and equipment, and everything is perfectly maintained. The library is a figurative sea of books in numerous categories, ranging from film-making and music theory to philosophy and nuclear physics. While the college does not provide a hostel, it does provide contact information for PGs of all price ranges for non-day boarders.

Faculty: The teachers at this college are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable in their fields. However, the teaching medium is supposed to be English, but most teachers transition into Bengali, which makes it difficult for some students to understand. The syllabus is essential to the course, starting with the basics that we learned in 11th and 12th grade. The semester exams are fairly easy if you attend class regularly and review the material for about 10 minutes after class.

Other: I chose this course as a means to higher education only. The best thing about this course is that it is a low effort high rewards course. The things I would improve were the basics; in the first couple of months we were spoonfed what we had already learnt in school. This college would have been considered a club if it were not for the literal lecture halls. This college is stacked with events and fests. Campus crowd is cooperative as well. Connectivity is also excellent as it has a metro station and bus stop in vicinity. If you are an enthusiastic person, you can expect to be loaded with extracurricular activities.

This college is good for studies and other activities.

Placements: The highest package is around INR 3,00,000. If we want to get an internship, we need to score around 75-80%. There are lots of different subjects offered each semester, and in the last semester, we are provided with interview skills and other job-related training.

Infrastructure: The labs and classrooms are well furnished and maintained, and the library is awesome. You get a silent environment for self-study, and the mess is like a hotel with a wide variety of food that tastes amazing. The arena (game zone) has lots of games to play.

Faculty: The teachers are good and well interactive, and they are well qualified. Their teaching quality is awesome, and they make students well trained for upcoming obstacles and prepare them for their next journey. Semesters 5 and 6 are the most difficult semesters of all semesters.

Other: To good for fest, campus, extracurricular activities, surrounding.

Overall review for my college.

Placements: Recruiting companies are Amazon, Wipro, and PWC. Specialized courses are also there to support a student with industrial standards. The highest package was around 6 LPA and the average package was around 2.5 LPA. Internships will begin in July 2024, so I do not have much information about it.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms with smart boards for better and more conceptual gain. The library is huge, with 5000 sq ft and 2 lac books and newspapers in every language. The canteen's food quality is above average; it's purely vegetarian and partnered with Saatvik Caterers.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified in the Science section of our college with M.Sc. and PhDs, along with 15+ years of teaching students with appropriate methods, including smart boards and simulations. For physics and computer science, we have well-equipped and state-of-the-art laboratories for practical classes and practical teachers are also well qualified. Semester exams are moderate to difficult, but our teachers will train from beginner to expert level. So if you do their classes and follow their suggestions and notes, surely it will help you.

I am satisfied with our college but not with the university.

Placements: Our course, B.Sc. Physics, is a general degree course, and most people don't even opt for jobs immediately after graduation. They generally go for postgraduate studies. Hence, there is no question of job placements. A few people go for educational internships.

Infrastructure: The facilities available at our college are excellent. We have a brand new physics lab with well-maintained equipment. All the classrooms have multiple air conditioners and a projector. Halls and auditoriums are also huge and well maintained for all sorts of programs, seminars, and lectures.

Faculty: Most of the teachers are excellent and experienced. They teach with the most care. The course itself is definitely not enough to directly enter the industry. A postgraduate degree is definitely recommended after the completion of this course. This college is affiliated with the University of Calcutta, which is well known for its really difficult and huge syllabus, as well as very intensive checking. Even though the college is great and takes the most care of its students, the university is not recommended at all. This university always mentally harasses students in every possible way, is very irresponsible, never cooperates with the students, and doesn't even follow the basic UGC guidelines. It just goes on with its own made-up policies, and hence the college is bound to follow them.
