B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2029

A strong engineering programme with great campus life.
Placements: Many ECE students get placed in core or IT companies but average placement packages tend to be more modest. Around 5 LPA–6 LPA for those placed through regular placement drives (excluding high offers) in some years. CET offers excellent placement opportunities for ECE students, with a mix of high-paying core roles and strong IT placements. Students who build good technical skills and project experience often secure top offers.
Infrastructure: Well-equipped laboratories: For engineering branches including ECE, CET provides departmental labs and technical facilities for practical and research work. These include the Communication Engineering Lab, Digital Electronics / DSP Lab, Microprocessor & Microcontroller Lab, and VLSI & Embedded Systems Lab. These labs have modern equipment like CROs, function generators, FPGA kits, DSP kits, and relevant simulation software.
Faculty: The ECE department at CET has a mix of experienced professors and associate professors covering a broad range of specializations including communications, signal processing, optical communications, VLSI/microelectronics, embedded systems, robotics, and biomedical electronics.
Other: Students participate in events like hackathons, ideathons, and project expos. These clubs help build real-world skills beyond the classroom.

It's a good college for you.
Placements: I am in ECE branch. All the people got placements. The highest package in the college is 38.5 LPA. 4 students get this offer which is offered by Texas Instruments. Some students opt for higher studies. A person got air 5 from my branch.
Infrastructure: It consists of c2s lab which students can use systems and increase individual skills. Also, there are fb page boards. By utilizing this so many are placed, including 4 persons from here placed at Texas for 38.5 LPA. Currently now I am in s3, and now I have lab sections for digital circuit design and analog circuits.
Faculty: It is under APJ Abdul Kalam University. We have nice syllabus in which from first year onwards the core subject includes network theory. Now I am studying in semester. We have about 4 core subjects, and it offers a good time in 4th year and to do projects.
Other: I chose this course because of the place. ENTS in our department, and also it is the engineering branch that is going to rule the upcoming age. In my college, there are a lot of fests including Dhisha, Drishti, and Dhwani in which include improving the students' technical skills.

I would recommend it to students if they are looking for placements.
Placements: For ECE, there are two batches, each with 70 students, making a total of 140 in strength. Minimum rank within 1000 should be attained in the KEAM entrance examination. The highest package offered is 33 LPA, and the average package is 5 LPA, which can be expected. Major companies like Texas Instruments offer placements for students.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and a projector.
Faculty: Although faculty members might seem underperforming and questionable. The majority of the faculty members are of a positive mindset. Rather than only depending on the course, it would be better to take additional courses as well to be ahead of the competition. Semester exams are not that bad. The course curriculum is basic, and it covers all the necessary and basic understanding first, and then moves on to the core subject and ideas. In-charge faculty members are overall better than other colleges.

Satisfied with taking admission in this college.
Placements: Around 60% of students from the ECE department are getting placed in core and IT companies. The highest package offered by Texas Instruments in our college is 35 LPA. An average package of 5 to 6 LPA is offered to students placed in various core and IT companies. The top recruiting companies include Texas Instruments and Wipro. More than 70% of students are offered internships in various companies.
Infrastructure: As expected from a government college, classrooms have good infrastructure with projection screens and Wi-Fi outside. Classrooms are above average, and the library system is good. The men's hostel infrastructure is very good and provides a good study atmosphere. The food in the men's hostel is also very good and is considered affordable within the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly skilled, educated, and very supportive. The course curriculum is rated 8 out of 10. While it doesn't make us fully industry-ready on its own, students can become industry-ready by developing soft skills through the college. The semester exams are simple and quite easy to pass, with a pass percentage of more than 80%. Faculty members are well-experienced and supportive.
Other: Electronics and Communication Engineering is an upcoming high-priority course, and studying it in a prestigious institution makes it remarkable. The college offers various fests such as Drishti and Dhwani. Various scholarships are available for deserving students.

I am satisfied with it. It has good placements, good infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: The ECE department in CET has excellent placement opportunities. Almost all students got placements and some went for higher studies. 4 students got a package of 38.5 LPA out of around 60 students. They are placed in Texas Instruments non-core company. Students are also getting internships even in 2nd year. There are many opportunities in the college to get internships but we want to be apt for it.
Infrastructure: The college has a big library. There are libraries for respective departments in the department. Every corner of the college has availability of Wi-Fi. The hostel is also good and I lived in the hostel and around 500 people live in the hostel. The criteria to get the hostel is the distance and annual income of students. I am in a men's hostel with two people in a room, a good mess, and a good space. There is a ground to play sports. Basketball courts and volleyball courts are also available but not at higher standards.
Faculty: Good faculty members are there in the college. Their experience is very helpful to us in building our careers. The course curriculum was changed in 2024 in the 1st and 2nd semesters, and I think it's relevant because I experienced it. The college is under Abdul Kalam Technical University. Overall, the curriculum is good. Exams are a little bit easy and not all exams.
Other: I like the electronics field, so I chose this course in college. It is the best college under the Kerala government and we want to qualify KEAM entrance exam to get into the college. I want to learn technical things from clubs in the college to build a good career. There are many events in the college like Odisha, Drishti, Dhwani, department-wise fest, fest by colleges union, etc. The main three fests are Odisha, Drishti, and Dhwani. Odisha is for freshers, drishti is a technical event and Dhwani is a cultural fest.

Great college life with not so great academics.
Placements: Around 50-60% of students get placed and the rest go for further studies or don't get placed on campus. The highest package was around 39 LPA which my senior got on campus and the lowest would be maybe 4-5 LPA I guess. Texas is the top recruiter for our department.
Infrastructure: The quality of facilities and infrastructure is like any government college, nothing to hype about. Wi-Fi is slow and classrooms are okay I would say. Not the best but not the worst also. I don't live in the college hostel. I stay outside as a paying guest but as far as I have heard from the college inmates, the rooms are decent and the food is better than any other outside hostel.
Faculty: Some teachers are good. Some are not that good also just like any school or college but some are really wonderful and helpful. All the teachers are highly qualified but all of them know how to teach properly I would say (not someone to judge but that's what I would say from a student's perspective). Course curriculum is relevant but the time allotted for one semester is very low around 3-3.5 months which I don't find very tough but I hear many of my college mates complaining about it.
Other: To be honest, everyone was taking engineering and maybe that's why even I took it. Or maybe I didn't have much idea about my own interests which led me to engineering but after 1.5 years of engineering I am slightly getting an idea of what I want to do in life so probably after 4 years of B.Tech even if I don't know what I want in life, I'll definitely know what I don't want in life (that is engineering?).

Good placements last year, college fests are great and connectivity is nice.
Placements: Last year, about 80-85% of my seniors got placed. Placements are still taking place. The highest package was 38 LPA, and the lowest was about 6 LPA. The top recruiting company was Texas Instrumentation, followed by Amadeus and several others. More than 50% of students got internships last year. This year, internships are still taking place, and about 30–35% of students have already gotten internships. The top roles are digital and analog engineer.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are not so good in the first year, but from the second year, the infrastructure is quite nice. The Wi-Fi is not good, so it's better to use our own mobile data for activities. The labs are good, and we have enough equipment available, even though some are for faculty use only. The library is also nice, with a lot of books and a quiet, calm atmosphere.
Faculty: The teachers at this college are very knowledgeable, but some don't know how to teach or interact with students. The course curriculum is not relevant and doesn't prepare students for the industry. The semester exams are not difficult, and students can pass if they start studying a week before the exam. The pass percentage is almost 95%.
Other: I chose this course because of the college's reputation and the placements offered by top MNCs. The course is not boring like computer science, and the hands-on experiments are more like mechanical or civil engineering. The events are top quality, and during each college fest a top celebrity does the proshow. The campus is crowded almost all the time, and the extracurricular activities are especially nice for the freshers.

Overrated facilities with a rated college life.
Placements: In my branch, Texas is the highest placed company. From my hostel, a senior was placed at about 36 LPA at Texas. Now, the average package has become 7 LPA. The package is comparatively lower than previous years. Also, Bosch and Google will come to our college for campus placements.
Infrastructure: I am staying in the college hostel, and I really love it. Here, we have 4 modems on each floor. In our block, there are 120 students, and each floor has 8 bathrooms and 8 toilets. We don't have a library in our block, but we have one in our seniors' block. There are four blocks in our hostel. In the remaining three hostels, there are seniors. In my college, we have an electronics lab with all facilities. In our class, there are 70 students, and we have all basic facilities.
Faculty: I think the facilities are overrated. To be honest, if you want to get good marks, you need to study with the help of YouTube or by referring to books. The facilities are just doing their job to get a salary, not to teach the students. I think in the future, electronics will have great opportunities because of semiconductor evolution in India. To be honest, our curriculum is outdated. Now, I am studying the 2019 scheme.
Other: I chose this course because my cousin passed out from here in the electronics branch, and he is placed in Bangalore. He suggested choosing this college and this branch.
