Good infrastructure, facilities, and faculty members. Good placements as of 2024 and 2025.

Placements: I am from the 2025 batch, Mechanical Engineering. I have completed my first semester here. I have communicated with a lot of seniors. As I have talked to them, from the Mechanical Engineering branch, more than 50 percent of students get placed from every batch. And for other branches like CSE and ECE, there are a good amount of placements too. The highest package is 40 LPA for the college.

Infrastructure: Good infrastructure, and all the lab facilities are available here. Course-related facilities are well provided. Most of the classrooms have Wi-Fi access. There is a central computation facility where there are a lot of computers, and it is accessible for all the students from 9 am–9:30 pm on all working days. Men’s hostel has good facilities including washing machines. Food is also provided for all the inmates.

Faculty: Faculty members are good and experienced. I would not say that about all the faculty members, but most of them are good. Sincerity is seen in most of the faculty members. The curriculum is a bit hard to catch up with but is manageable if you keep in touch with the academic side. There are two series exams, lab exams, and end semester exams. Series exams are a bit tough to make sure we have good knowledge of the subjects.

Other: I chose Mechanical Engineering because I have a good interest in machines and developments. It has a lot of practical work, and all such lab facilities are available here. I would like if the college had more technical facilities. Good events have been conducted at college at the time of fresher’s events. And I am still at my 2nd semester, and more is yet to come.

Very satisfied college, top level faculty, placement and college life.

Placements: CET is one of 3 colleges from Kerala in the NIRF ranking. With such eminence in academic and curricular activities, the college is the most sought-after engineering college by applicants to engineering degree programs in the state. While talking about placement, almost 90% of students got placement offers from the mechanical 2023–24 batch. Many core companies, like Ford, Bosch, MRF, Nissan, etc., recruit students from CET. CET has an effective placement cell that assists the student throughout our journey by providing all the necessary help in order to prepare the student to face the placement interview and to secure a good career. In 2024, the mechanical department already had 177+ offers. The average package for the mechanical department is 10 LPA. The top offer I got in the 2023 batch was 33 LPA from the 2024 batch.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the mechanical block and labs is not too good. The mechanical block is the oldest block in the college, and the situation in the lab is bad. The machines in the lab are very old, and the computers in the CAD lab are also very old and less in number. Even though there is Wi-Fi in the department, it is not sufficient for the students requirements. Many classes don't even have proper lighting and fans. The condition of the library and hostel is good. The library has a good collection of books and a large collection of reference papers and books for students. The library also has a good space as study corners for students with Wi-Fi connections that are open to students. The hostel facility is also good. Good rooms with proper lighting and ventilation and a good study atmosphere are provided in the hostel. Also, the food is average.

Faculty: The faculty members of CET are well qualified and very helpful. Their way of teaching and quality of teaching are outstanding. All the faculty members are very helpful in academic activities and other curricular activities. Students can approach the faculty members for any needs at any time. Faculty members provide their best for the improvement of each and every student in the college. The syllabus provided by the university is outdated, but the faculties are doing their best to provide the current application of the things included in the syllabus. There are 3 exams in a semester, including the final end-of-semester exams. The pass percentage is about 50% to 60%. The papers are comparatively tough compared to some other branches.

Other: I chose this course because mechanical engineering is my interest area. Even though it has some tough papers, it won't matter if it is studied with interest. I wish the syllabus would improve. Many things in the syllabus are outdated and have no application in the current scenario. The events and festivals conducted at the college are among the top festivals in South India. The technical festival 'Drishti' is one of the top technical festivals in South India and the top technical festival under KTU. The cultural festival 'DHWANI' is also a top-level festival in South India. Students are getting many scholarships during their courses. There are many cells working in the college to inform the students about all the scholarships available to them. The location of the campus is easily accessible. Within 45 minutes of traveling from the main city, we can reach the campus. The college is located in a non-crowded area where buses are always available from the town.

This is very satisfying because the faculty is good.

Placements: Various campus placements are brought up by the college. Main companies such as USB Global PCS access instruments come here for placements. Almost 12 to 13 LPA is the average salary package. 75 to 80% of students get placements from here every year.

Infrastructure: Every department is there on Wi-Fi and the classroom is clean and big. There is a General big library near the mechanical department and an old small library in every department. The hostel is good and is clean and with good food and medical facilities. Sports and games are important in hostels.

Faculty: Follows the syllabus put out by Kerala Technical University which is also known as APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. The faculty members are very good qualified ones who are very supportive. The question papers are moderate of the university and we should get 75 marks out of 150 for passing the exam.

Other: The main thing about the college is that the Vibe. The campus has two main festivals known as Rainy and Drishti. I joined this college because it's the number one college in Kerala.

It is one of the best engineering colleges in Kerala.

Placements: Almost 70% of students got placed in different companies including core and IT fields. The highest salary package offered is 20 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Bosch, Texas, MRF, L&T, IBS, JSW, Royal Enfield, TCS, AG&P, Byju's, Jio, Nokia, Tata Elxsi, Cognizant, etc.

Infrastructure: Our college provides a well-rounded experience for students. The central library offers a great resource for studying and research. Workshop facilities are well-equipped. It provides a hands-on learning experience. The food served in the canteen is good and affordable. Our college has an indoor stadium. A gymnasium is available in our college where they can engage in physical activities. Wi-Fi facility is available at low speed. Hostels are inconvenient for doing online tasks.

Faculty: Our teachers are well-qualified and helpful. We can do relevant projects with the help and guidance of teachers. We can improve our knowledge in respective areas. Our college is affiliated with KTU. They provide minor and honor courses to make students industry-ready.

Other: Our college is good in terms of education, infrastructure, and placements. Many technical fests are held in our college.

Review of College of Engineering, Trivandrum.

Placements: I got two placements from the college. One placement is from the IT sector, and another is from the core company. Almost 80% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered by Texas is 25 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. Some IT companies visit our college to recruit students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college provides all facilities. Our campus is open till 9 PM. Labs have all the necessary facilities. Our college has a sports team.

Faculty: Faculty members are good. The course curriculum is fixed by KTU. It is not much good. They teach us very well. They provide good practical knowledge. The conduction of exams and publication of results are not good.

Other: Our technical event, Drishti has happened with two pro shows. One is by the world's first humanoid Sophia and another is by Arman Malik. Our cultural fest pro show is done by Jonita Gandhi. Many technical and cultural events are held in our college.
