Q:   What are the essential qualifications for admission to BSc course at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College?
A:

The following may be required to be eligible for Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College's BSc programs:

1. Academic Requirements: Candidates must have earned a minimum aggregate score as set by the University of Delhi in the 10+2 exam from an accredited board.

2. Subject Requirements: Depending on the BSc programme for which they are applying, candidates may need to have studied particular subjects in their 10+2 test. For instance, applicants may need to have taken Mathematics as one of their primary courses for their qualifying test in order to be eligible for the BSc (Hons) in Mathematics.

3. Extra Requirements: Certain Bachelor of Science programs could have extra requirements for admission, such as subject-specific cutoffs, entrance tests like the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET), or extracurricular activity, sports, or reserved category requirements.

Q:   What is the cutoff for BSc at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College?
A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, Deendayal Upadhyay college under Delhi University is quite well known for its academics. It has ranking of 24 which is considered quite good. Due to this, cut offs at this Institute are quite high for all the undergraduate courses that it offers. From different sources that I could go through, the cutoffs in the year 2022 were set between 94 to 96 for different BSc courses which are offered by this college. Cutoffs very every year and it depends on the number of seats available for admission and also the results of the CUET examination. In the year 2023 either the paper was little soft  or the students were now aware of what type of questions are asked and as a result more than 20000 students have scored 100 percentile. Not only this the students who have scored percentile above 95 are more than two and half lakh. Of course this is all India figure and this test is applicable for all the Central University across India and therefore it can be safely assumed that not all the students will come up to colleges under Delhi University.  Be that as it may, this is bound to increase the competition and as a result it is expected that the cutoffs for the year 2023 for BSc courses may increase by one or two percentiles.
Best wishes to you.

Q:   How are BSc placements at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College?
A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, placements for undergraduate courses like BA, BCom or BSc are definitely not like placements after graduation in engineering. This is so because it is considered that after engineering majority of the students will look for a job while for other streams of graduations, majority of students may look for doing post graduation in some specialised area. As a result of this it is nightmare to come to conclusion based on this statistics. In the case of DDU under Delhi University the data is not available for different streams of under graduation but this club under single heading called under graduate students. Total number of students place or short of hundred out of about 800 students who pass out. But interesting aspect is that more than two and half times the number of students placed or not even looking for response but see admission for higher studies. Whenever a student who is intending to do BSc most look at this aspect and not get swayed by figures of placements.
To help you understand I am attaching link that will give you an overall picture of placements in this college.

I am really satisfied with the college infrastructure, not with college ground.
Placements: Placements are fine if we really want to get placed. By fine, I mean around 30%-40% of students got placed if they tried. Attending all workshops, working on their skills, and especially their communication skills helps. Companies for B.Com and BMS students provide an upper hand. Around 70% get placed.
Infrastructure: I can't say about the hostel since I never stayed there, but since they are new, one can expect them to be really clean and functioning. It's just a 2-minute walk from the college and inside the campus only. I can't say about mess food, but canteen is cheap and there is Amul dairy too. College infrastructure is very good with air conditioner classrooms.
Faculty: Some teachers are good, others are not. At the end of the day, students would have to study themselves. If students have doubts, then they can help them out, but don't expect anybody to spoon-feed students. If students are not attending classes, their marks will be deducted not just from their attendance marks but also from internal and practical marks. There would be times when teachers won't write recommendations for them if students are not in their good books.
Other: Since it is DU college, it has lot of societies and events. I was a part of the Debating society (it is pretty good one) and Optizone MS society. Other really good societies are Kalamkaar (writing society), Drama society, Dance society, Music society, Finance, NSS, etc. There are many societies and lot of them are pretty active and good.

Satisfied with infrastructure and faculty members. But dissatisfied with placements and playgrounds.
Placements: 15-20% of the students are placed in my course. As my course includes Operation Research is one of its cores, there is a lot of scope for internship and placements as its applications are almost in every field, like Airline industry, Transportation, agriculture, etc.
Infrastructure: Deen Dayal Upadhyay College in Dwarka was made in 2016 so its infrastructure is very good. It comes under the top 5 colleges for the best infrastructure in Delhi University. Every class is fully furnished with new benches and is fully air-conditioned. Although the grounds for sports are not so big, indoor courts for badminton and table tennis are good.
Faculty: Teachers are very knowledgeable, all are very friendly in nature, understand the student-teacher bond, and the semester exams are not very difficult. Studying and doing class work regularly automatically leads to good grades in academics. The pass percentage is a minimum of 40%.
Other: My course provides the field of data science as it includes operation research and computer language as two of its core subjects, which provides better opportunities in the future. Regular classes and more practical classes would definitely improve my course. Events are organized regularly; farewell, freshers, and the annual fest mostly occur in March or April.

The college is good but it needs improvement.
Placements: A few students are placed in the on campus recruitment. Many companies were there with different roles but mainly we chose this course for further studies. The faculty is good and I don't know about the average or the highest package in the college.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for my course/department (e. g. Wi-Fi, Labs, Classrooms and Library) are good. Many things are provided by the college. The quality of the facilities in the hostel, the quality of food available in the mess and canteen, medical facilities, sports and games are good too but the campus size is small.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good and the facilities and infrastructure are available for my course/department are good. Many things are provided by the college and there are a lot of things to do.
Other: Everything is fine and if you want to pursue this course then you should have a backup option for further studies.

Review of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi.
Placements: Since I am from a science background, the placement percentage is very low about 10 -20% only. Because many students prefer to go for higher studies, and also not many profiles are offered in our domain of tech and data. The highest salary package in our course is about 7-8 LPA, the lowest is about 3 LPA, and the average is about 4-5 LPA. For our course, the top companies recruiting are Wipro, Deloitte, EY, etc. Approximately 30-40% of students got an internship in many good companies and NGOs. The top roles offered are analytics, python developer.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure wise our college is ranked in the top 7 in India and in DU it's top in that. It's newly built, just 5 years old. It is centrally air-conditioned and has three floors library, computer center, lab, big air-conditioned canteen, five-story building and a hostel on the campus which is in very good condition.
Faculty: Teachers of any DU college are the best you can get ever, they are very helpful indeed. The quality of teaching of many teachers is just awesome, but some are also there who make us feel suffer but it's okay, otherwise, it's all good. Our course makes good skillset ready students who can land in the job by doing some extra projects. Exams are difficult, but if you prepare well then it's not.
Other: I opted for this college because mathematical science it's the best at DU and in our course, everything is there, I need maths CS or statistics. One thing that can be better is, if there are statistics subjects in place of operational research, then we have more options at the PG level. There are many events held in our college.

Our college has an excellent infrastructure.
Placements: Placements in our college are appreciative. Many of the internship programs start from the 1st year of our college. Many companies recruit students and among them many digital education platforms also give internships. In this course graphical data matters.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good. Our labs, classroom, library, and everything are very well-organised. The hostel and canteen are also excellent. Many things are good about infrastructure. Sports and games may lag as the field is average.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful. Every time they are ready to solve our problem. In this course, our computer knowledge matters. This course is quite helpful in the future if you want to become a specialist in the risk management of the economic field.
