Absolutely satisfied because it's a college environment.
Placements: Very few opportunities for internship during the course. Placements for the aerospace department are on the lower side if you are looking to get placed in core aerospace companies. Even those core companies don't hire students with a Bachelor's degree. So mostly B.Tech students convert their programme to a dual degree course and go for placements with M.Tech degrees. Airbus, Eaton, and Mercedes are some of the core companies that recruit the students at this college. Apart from that, a large portion of students get placed in non-core companies that offer coding and data analytics jobs.
Infrastructure: Infrastructural assets like academic building and library is good. But as far as facilities are concerned, unlimited Wi-Fi is available for all students. The library is good, and it is open from 8 AM to 11:59 PM daily except on Sunday. On Sunday, it will be closed at 5 PM. Classrooms are also well-equipped with all the facilities required for teaching. All the lecture halls are air-conditioned, but all the tutorial halls are not air-conditioned. Hostel-1 to hostel-11 are not that good in terms of furniture as they are old, and 12 and 13 hostels are recently built and are very good with lift facility. Food offered in the mess of hall 10 is mostly good except for 1 or 2 days a week. The canteen is quite economical, and the only drawback of the canteen is its timings. It is open from 2 PM to 2 AM.
Faculty: Teachers in the aerospace department are highly educated, and most of them have completed their PhDs from IITs or reputed foreign universities. Some of the professors of this department comes under the list of top 2% scientists released by Stanford University. But the problem is that they are not good as they cannot explain concepts in an efficient way. Their teaching methodology is not as good as expected from the professors in a college like IIT Kanpur. The faculty to student ratio is good. The classroom never looks like an overcrowded one. The course curriculum is useful, and even the industrial exposure is also good as seminars are conducted frequently by the people working in industries. Exams are really tough even though when some of the exams are open book/note, but relative marking is their.
Other: I have chosen this course for placements in non core companies. Only thing is to be improved is the placements in core companies. A lot of fests and events organised in IIT Kanpur are organised by counselling service and other groups like Udghosh, Antaragini and many others. The connectivity from campus to city is good. Our campus is very beautiful with a lot of greenery. All the students use bicycles to travel within campus which is a very good thing. All kinds of extracurricular activities are being carried by various clubs and societies.

Good faculty, excellent infrastructure, and satisfactory placements.
Placements: The placement for our senior batch was good with the average package being 15 LPA.
Around 85% computer science students bagged offers from big companies and some overseas offers.
Companies that gave the offers were Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe Systems, Flipkart and some other big names.
The roles that our seniors got were mostly core computer profiles.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at IIT Kanpur is excellent with international level facilities.
The college is equipped with Wi-Fi system.
We have a big space for the computer lab and good medical facility at the campus.
There are big fields for different outdoor games and rooms for indoor games and gym facility.
The classrooms and labs are world-class and equipped with modern tech instruments.
The college also provides accommodation and mess facility which is quite satisfactory and available at an affordable price.
Till now, I haven't faced any major issues here.
Faculty: The faculty members here are highly educated and some with prior experience in the industry.
The faculty is helpful and knowledgeable.
Different faculty members use different methods to enhance knowledge of the subject.
Mostly, I found the teaching methods that used were theory extended to practical.
The student-faculty ratio was around 10:1, besides visiting faculty members.
We have a proper connection with the industry and curriculum is satisfactory.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the placements. Teachers do not support placements.
Placements: I was in the environmental engineering and management department. Placement was not good for our batch or our senior batch. For seniors, only 2 companies came and for our batch, only 2-3 universities came for lectureship.
They were offering around 5-6 lakh packages only.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was amazing from classrooms to the hostel. There was good Wi-Fi. In fact, other facilities for entertainment were also amazing. The food was also good. The best part was it was available all round the clock.
The only problem was there were few single seater rooms for girls.
Faculty: The faculty was well-experienced and knowledgeable. They were available for the students all the time. Teaching was generally done by presentations. For our batch, only 15 students were there. So the student to faculty ratio was quite good. Industry exposure was not as such there. The course curriculum was well-designed.

Amazing college life with tough study curriculum.
Placements: All M.Tech students in the civil department with structural engineering specialization either got a placement or went for Ph.D. 100% of the eligible students got placed. The highest, lowest, and average salary offered was 12 lakhs, 5.25 lakhs, and 6 lakhs respectively. For civil engineering, companies which visited are L&T construction, L&T, KEC International etc.
Infrastructure: IIT Kanpur is one of the best institutes in India with world-class facilities like amazing high-speed Wi-Fi, international level labs, classrooms, and library. The quality of food is fine. The hostel rooms are quite spacious. I never faced any infrastructure related issues during my tenure at the college. Especially hall 10, 11 and 12 are amazing.
Faculty: The faculty experience was mixed up. The faculty members were qualified. I never had such a learning experience which I got here. Best thing is that whatever they teach only that comes in the examination. In M.Tech, the faculty to student ratio is 6:12. We didn't get industrial exposure. IIT-K is research-oriented. The course curriculum is useful.

Very much satisfied , got a nice job with above average package because of the quality of education.
Placements: In 2016-2017 placement season, 32 out of 34 registered students got placed in our M.Tech CSE batch. It was not that excellent because of 2 not placed like it used to be from 2-3 years. The highest package was 30 LPA and the minimum was around 8 LPA. The second minimum was 14 LPA and the average was 18+ LPA. Roles were S/W engineering, Member Technical Staff, Research Engineer etc. Companies were Microsoft, Goldmann Sachs, Nutanix, Headout, Visa, Oracle, Infosys, Samsung Research, Walmart Labs, Cisco, Infosys, TCS, IBM Research, Xerox Lab, Infoworks, VMware etc. Only 4 students applied for the internship and they got the same in IBM and Samsung. The stipend was 35-50,000 per month.
Infrastructure: The whole campus has Wi-Fi and we have AC classrooms in our department. An air conditioned 3-floor library is here and an availability of a health centre is here. All sports facilities are available (squash, lawn tennis, swimming pool, badminton, table tennis, cricket, hockey, football, taekwondo, indoor games) with national-level coaches.
Each hostel has its own canteen and the quality is good and very cheap also. The infrastructure of the hostels are awesome and we live in a single room. I did not find any issue yet.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and have contributed much internationally. The teaching methods include a mixture of projector and board.
The student to faculty ratio is approximately 20:1.
I did not apply for the internship and the courses mean a lot when it comes to speaking about projects in the company's interview rounds.
Other: Everything is good in IIT Kanpur. A lot of freedom is there. We can really start working for our passion/dreams here. All are very supportive in every possible way.
IITK has a beautiful and big campus. We have CCD, Dominos, Urban Crave and many other outlets inside the campus where we get a good discount also.
We plan cycling, jogging, trekking etc frequently. Also, every week, we watch a movie in the open air theatre and all cricket/ football matches too.
The faculty members are also cool, they support the students in every cause and treat the student like their own family.

A place to learn, explore, and evolve not only educated but as a learned individual
Placements: There are no eyebrows raised if you aspire to get placed from an institute of this stature. All those willing to get placed are placed from my and my senior's batch. Not only that, everyone got placed in the domain of their choice. Be it software, analytics, academics, management, or core departmental jobs, all the options are very much within our reach when we are a part of this institute.
Infrastructure: World-class. There's absolutely nothing I can think of which I won't get on the campus at any hour of the day. Uninterrupted hi-speed internet, all-accessible library, and a vast range of extra-curricular activities form the part of the routine. Excellent medical facilities are at our disposal.
Faculty: Renowned and learned faculty, probably the best one can aspire for with a thorough understanding of the course content. Faculty members are always more than ready to help and motivate, not only in academics but in all aspects of life here at IIT, Kanpur. The course curriculum is aptly designed to cover all the aspects of necessary education and is very helpful.

Other: The education quality and faculty is good. The campus facilities and infrastructure are good. The hostels and canteens are also very good. I'm proud to be an Alumni of IIT Kanpur.
Comparatively, B.Tech chemical students will have more campus placement opportunities than M.Tech chemical students.
A very few core companies come to the campus for placements.
