B.Sc. in Physics - Batch of 2026

College campus is great.
Placements: You can find placement in B.Sc. Physics up to 10,000 per month in companies. But for better placement and job opportunities, one should really pursue M.Sc. in Physics if she/he wants to pursue a career in Physics. After doing M.Sc., one can also try for a junior scientific post.
Infrastructure: Hostels are not much great, but the campus is very good. Most of the students who come to this college are for the campus only. Facilities like washrooms for girls and boys, water coolers in each department, a huge library that contains 2 lakh books, hostels are not bad but also not great. Wi-Fi is available on campus, but in classrooms, you cannot use the internet. All sports equipment is available in college, including a basketball ground, football ground, and badminton space. Three canteens and three messes are present in the college.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching is not the best, but it is good. The course is very relevant if you want to pursue research in Physics and become a scientist. You can later pursue M.Sc. in Physics for it. Semester exams are quite difficult compared to other science courses in Fergusson College. I don't know the passing percentage, but people do clear their backs, and some also excel in it.
Other: I chose this course because I liked the Physics subject in my school days, and I wanted to prepare for the UPSC exam, so graduation is necessary. I thought I should pursue my favorite subject. The course should be a little more industry-oriented and less theoretical. Events are fabulous, fest time is the best time of the college, there is a 15-day fest in college, sports events, scholarships, etc.

Fergusson college a nature loving campus great opportunities and building connections.
Placements: Placements are good, it's between 3 lacs to 9 Lacs but students opt for higher studies. Like M.Sc. or internships in quantum computing, etc. The top recruiting company is Wipro. Internships are individually done or through assistance from professors mainly through linkdin.
Infrastructure: Nature-loving campus, a British colonial building and superb atmosphere. Lab classrooms are ventilated and are spacious. The Campus has more open land. Hostels are good but people prefer PGs near the college. There are 3 canteens one of them is super good and others are average.
Faculty: Teachers are highly skilled and support the students with projects research and internships, they are very co-operative. Definitely, this makes students industry-ready with great qualities. Semester exams are mediocre tough and average CGPA of our branch is around 8 and above.
Other: I chose this course as I'm highly interested in Physics. Plus it has a developed Astro club which I was an important part of. We do have our department fest named Gravity. And some cultural and sports fest like Spandan and Josh. To improve my course, I should say adding more depth in Bachelors.

One of the best colleges for pure science stream.
Placements: Very few students even apply for placements as most of them go for higher studies after B.Sc. From B.Sc. Physics, very few students get placed and the average salary is around 20000 INR per month. Research projects are offered by professors of the institute and students are also encouraged for various research opportunities.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are excellent. Old classrooms give a very nice experience. The college has free Wi-Fi. Library is one of the best in the state. Labs are also well-equipped and maintained. Quality of food in mess is also nice. There are medical facilities available. Lots of sports and other activities like NSS and NCC are conducted.
Faculty: The college has one of the best-qualified faculty, especially for Maths, Physics and Statistics. Teachers are highly educated and very cooperative. Medium of teaching is English. Curriculum is defined by Pune University, however the college is autonomous hence, exams are taken by the college itself. End semester exams are not too difficult if you have attended all the lectures.

It is an awesome campus with a huge library.
Placements: Companies that visited our campus to hire students were L&T, infotech, Deloitte, TCS, Persistence Avaya, Quick Heal, Sigmasoft, DE Shaw, etc. The average salary offered was 2.5 LPA to 3.5 LPA. The highest salary package offered was 4.5 LPA. About 70-80% of students got placed. Many go for a master's degree and then in teaching field.
Infrastructure: From my experience, I can assure you that you will experience one of the best campuses and social life in Fergusson college. We had a Wadia Library and this is one of the biggest libraries in Maharashtra. You would find all sorts of books here. You would find an elevated classroom with sliding green boards. If you are a sportsperson then this college is the best for you. You will find a badminton court, table tennis court, basketball ground, tennis court, cricket ground, football ground, volleyball ground, and a lot more.
Faculty: In the 1st year, you have to choose 4 subjects out of which you have to choose 3 subjects in the 2nd year, and in the final year, you have to choose 1 subject. Faculty members in our college are good and highly qualified teachers with Ph.D. Some teachers were not good. They were from IITs, ISSER, etc. You have two semesters of four-month every year and in each semester, you have to give two CE exams for 25 marks. It's not so difficult to pass an exam.

It has good faculty members and exposure.
Placements: About 70% of students get placed in the campus interview. Companies like Accenture, Infosys, and Schneider visit the college for placements. The highest salary package offered for bachelor students is 5 LPA. The highest salary package offered for master students is 10 LPA. About 50% of students from our course get internships. Roles like research associate, teacher, project head, scientist, etc., are offered here.
Infrastructure: Our college has the best infrastructure. It is known all over the world. It is autonomous, so it provides the course and makes its own syllabus. It gives the best exposure to students around the world. Classrooms are spacious, and the library is top-notch. Labs of specific departments are very reliable. The college has around 4 canteens. Each canteen is neat and provides affordable food and staff. The hostel has spacious and clean rooms. Security is very good. It has alumni who have represented India internationally in sports. It has the best playgrounds.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful and understanding. It has the best understanding of the subject they are teaching. The course curriculum is relevant, and it gives broad exposure. The course curriculum makes students industry-ready, and a specific department provides study as well as industry tours. Semester exams are a bit difficult, even in offline mode, but everything in the exam comes from the things we have been taught. The pass percentage is 95%.
Other: I have chosen this course because I want to go into research only. It has the best curriculum and exposure. Around 30% of students from respective departments go abroad for their masters. It has tie-ups to those colleges, and a very good percentage of students join the armed forces. It has India's best and the largest NCC recruitment and training. Lab equipment needs improvement. It has more than 10 departments, and each department organises its own fest and themes. Students come from around the world, so it has the best crowd. It provides many scholarships and conducts extracurricular activities.

The campus is awesome with a great heritage, very good infrastructure and annoying administration.
Placements: Most of the students go for higher studies after B.Sc. Students who want placements have a hard time getting it as a B.Sc degree is not worth it. The placement cell of our college is still doing its best to bring companies. Most of their efforts go towards getting students internships while they are pursuing their degree, and the college is doing a phenomenal job at that.
Infrastructure: The only thing I have not given a five-star rating for this section is the hostels. No parent that likes their child would want them to live in such a place. Except for that, everything is good. Classrooms are ideal, and labs are also awesome. There are multiple canteens and an above-average library.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are pretty decent. There are some professors who want to create unwanted problems. The curriculum is well-structured and very engaging. Exams are conducted well considering the pandemic and all other issues.
Other: Our college has a great diversity of people. Students come from almost every corner of the country and beyond. Students get exposed to a lot of different ideas and cultures. There are many clubs and fraternities to choose from for extracurricular activities. The campus is one of the most beautiful in Pune. From the only couple of months of offline college I've experienced so far, the heritage of this college impressed me the most. I am satisfied to be a part of this.

I suggest you choose this college if you are interested in research and higher studies.
Placements: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, placements were not much good here. I don't remember any company visited here this year for placements. However, in the normal situation, most of the students get placed from here. But many of the students choose to opt for higher studies. The average salary offered is around Rs. 20,000-25,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very good here, and many classrooms in the old building built with stones. Classrooms have an E-learning facility, and Wi-Fi is not available in the classrooms. The library is huge enough, and you get every book you want to read for academics/other than academics. Students can rent books for free of cost.
Faculty: Teachers in every department are well qualified. Most of them have completed their PhD/M.Phil, and their teaching quality is also good. They are helpful. The syllabus is designed as per the view of research or by considering basic knowledge for higher studies. Exams are not easy and not very hard here. If students can study regularly, they can get 10 CGPA.
Other: Along with academics, our college arranges various extracurricular activities, guest lectures, etc.

Our college is awesome, and students can have one of the best experiences.
Placements: A lot of well-reputed companies all over India offer various campus selection programs into the college every year. Our college offers a well-maintained campus placement cell facility to the students. Your life is safe here. Most of our seniors are currently engaged with their placements all over the country.
Infrastructure: Our college classrooms are pretty clean, and it has a century-old victorian period architectural beauty that gives a vivid experience. The main library is huge and provides all kinds of books on different subjects. For more subject-based queries, each department has its library. Our college offers a variety of sports and games facilities. There are 3 on-campus canteens.
Faculty: Our college has one of the best academically qualified teaching faculty members who give a world-class experience to students. Their instruction strategies are unique and help to ease our future studies. The college updates the syllabus every year to make sure that students get the latest and relevant information on their subjects.
Other: I have chosen this course because of many reasons. The college is one of the best in our country, and I like its 65-acre college campus. It is very beautiful with its garden, hill and lush green, which is spread all over the place.

It’s average score. Since ICSE paper setting and correction are very liberal, 82% is just an average score. When my daughter completed class 10th in 2014, around 70% of students scored above 80% in her school. Any way you can always work hard and do much better in your future exams.
