B.Tech. in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering - Batch of 2028
4.0
It's good for middle-class students who want to study well in college and want a college experience.
Placements: In our college, the maximum number of seniors got placed. Companies like HCL, HUL, we can also seat tech companies like Cozingant, Infosys, etc. The highest package in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation is 12.36 LPA (HUL). The internship process is overseen by a teacher or department.
Infrastructure: There are 3 hostels in Haldia Institute of Technology. Each room contains 4 beds, and bathrooms are not attached, we have to use the common washrooms. Mess food is average or sometimes below average. If you are a vegetarian, then survival will be difficult. Wi-Fi speed will be excellent, there are no issues on that. All types of sports participants happened in the hostel as well as the college.
Faculty: Teachers and professors are helpful, the more you interact, the more they will support you. Not all teachers' teaching is good, but on average, we can manage. Difficulty in the exam is moderate because questions came from the question bank or important notes that are already given, but to give the exam, you have to complete the fee dues, you will not be allowed to give the exam or generate an admit card. They make industry visits, idea labs, seminars, and conference calls with alumni. In my department, faculty members are a little bit strict, and attendance is mandatory.
Other: Look, I had the option to choose another department at the time of admission, but now I'm grateful for this department. From this department, you can go into any field, like tech or non-tech, all options are open. There are various clubs and societies in college that are run by seniors, and they hold many events like a treasure hunt, coding round, or seminar. There are many scholarships like EWS, DRCC, and Ekalyan. West Bengal has some personal scholarships as well as a good rank in JEE or in WBJEE, they will also get a scholarship.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2026
4.2
Average placement as per a Tier 3 college.
Placements: Average placements of package 4 LPA are offered. The season starts in September, and many companies visit. Companies like Capgemini, Infosys, and Cognizant are the mass recruiters. But if you expect more than you need to prepare for off-campus from the start. One genuine suggestion is don't rely completely on college, if your luck works, you get a good job as some good companies also visit, but their intake is minimal, so it's about your luck sometimes.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good overall. The campus is big enough. It includes a well-equipped lab and a separate library on campus (ACL). The hostel is better in terms of the fee. You get a good environment here with friends. Food is not that good and not too bad. You can also order from the campus cafeteria.
Faculty: The semester exam is not difficult if your attendance is 70%, as most things are already covered during classes. Apart from the course curriculum, you should be upskilled with the latest technology if you want to pursue software roles. It would help, but for the core. Completely focus on the labs. The teacher will support you if they find your worth. They give you a relevant separate project from the course.
Other: My batch is 2022-26 (Electronics and Communication Engineering). This course gives you flexibility to choose either core or tech jobs, but make sure you decide what to choose at the beginning, as many exams, like GATE and some other government exams, have vacancies for the ECE branch. The cultural fest happens every year, named Reveira. Last time, guests were Shilpa Rao and Ashneer Grover. It happens generally in April.

B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2027
5.0
It is a good college for engineering in West Bengal.
Placements: In our college, especially in chemical engineering, 92% of students get placed. The highest package offered is 15 LPA. The lowest package offered is 4 LPA. The average package offered is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Haldia Petrochemical, IOCL, etc. Many students get internships in companies like BIS and BCCL. In our course, an engineer role is offered.
Infrastructure: All facilities are available in our hostel, like Wi-Fi, fans, beds, etc. Our college infrastructure is great. Classrooms are clean. The lab and library facilities are available. In the canteen and mess, the food quality is best. Medical, sports, and games facilities are also available here.
Faculty: All teachers are very helpful. Their teaching quality is awesome. All teachers are friendly and always ready to help students. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams conducted in college are moderate. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: The campus crowd is awesome. Events and fests are held every year. Scholarship programs are also available here. It is an autonomous college and a value for money.

A good college in West Bengal with a calm surrounding environment, and good studies.
Placements: Companies like TCS and Cognizant come for placements. But they have 95-100 percent placement records. Computer Science and Engineering course also has good placement records in the past years.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms are not worth it but they have improved much from the previous ones. Wi-Fi is available in hostel rooms. But I do not stay in hostel, I'm just saying from my friend's perspective. You can opt for hostel if you want as ragging has decreased much from the previous years.
Faculty: The study is awesome, with good teaching staff and helpful semester exams questions are a little tricky to solve. Overall, the paper is good. Teachers are mostly with a doctorate and they have a great experience of teaching. Most of the teachers help the students when they get stuck. Improving skills and going to the lab make students more industry-ready, I think.
Other: I like to code so I opted for this course. Fest hasn't happened in this college till now since admission. No fest has been organised.

It is a good college in terms of placements and campus compared to other private colleges.
Placements: In my course, 82 percent of students got placed this year. The highest package offered is 12 LPA, and the average package offered on campus is 4.5 LPA. Top companies like TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, Infotech, and Wipro hire students from the college. Students got major internships from Oracle. The top role offered is data analyst.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure is good and well-maintained. There is a library with plenty of books and question banks. The college provides a hostel for 1st year only, which has a decent fee. The mess is fair and good enough to keep one living, as better than other places. The college also has a tie-up with the BC Roy Hospital. It also organises sports events periodically.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. Most teachers are well-qualified and dedicated to their work, so we can call them and ask questions. The course curriculum is good and evolving as per market requirements. Semester exam and normal class tests are easy and scoring. There is nothing to worry about.
Other: The course has an increasing market and also has a huge scope of choices, so I chose it. Fests are rare here, as we didn't get to see one till now.

The campus was good, and the placement was also good.
Placements: Placements were good in the core branch, and decent placements in other branches. Top recruiting companies were Infosys, Capgemini, TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc. The highest package was 12 LPA, and the average package was 4 LPA. Approximately 80 percent of students were placed in my college.
Infrastructure: The library, campus, and labs were good. The campus was very good and large, and the weather was very good. There was the Aryabhatt library, where the environment was good, and also books were available, and the library was big. Hostel facilities were also good, food quality was good, classroom were good.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and knowledgeable. You can ask your doubts after class. Teaching techniques were good, they were qualified. Semester exams were a little bit tough, approximately 80 percent of students passed. 75 percent attendance was also compulsory.

Decent college for engineering studies.
Placements: I am in 2nd year, and in our batch there are around 150 students. In my course, Chemical Engineering, around 80 percent of students got placed every year. The highest package is around 8.6 LPA and the lowest is around 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are HPL, Wipro, Capgemini, etc. Around 70 percent of students got internships from HPL and local companies in Haldia.
Infrastructure: Our department has decent classrooms, a lab, and inside our department, there is a small library which contains only departmental books. Hostel food is not that good, but it is manageable and affordable. Medical facilities are available on the campus 24/7. The gym is also available on the campus.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate, and the pass percentage is around 80 percent. If you study regularly, you will get good marks.
Other: I chose chemical engineering because the placement is very good here. The campus life at Haldia Institute of Technology is very calm and full of greenery, which creates a peaceful environment for studying. The campus crowd is diverse because students from different states study here, and the connectivity is decent. Technical and cultural fests are organised every year, including college fests, departmental events, and competitions. There are some student clubs and societies, though participation depends on personal interest. Scholarships are provided to eligible students, which is helpful for financially weaker students.

Boys hostel should be made available for all the years.
Placements: I am Suraj Burnwal from Haldia Institute of technology B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. The placement is above average in our college and this year the highest package is of approximately 14 LPA from the AEIE batch and the average package is 4 to 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Wipro, Byjus, Haldia Petrochemical, TCS, Accenture, etc. Internship is also provided by the college to the students more or less. If you are capable you can make it.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good or average you can say. Playgrounds are regularly maintained and the sports instruments are also well equipped. The labs are also average. Some are damaged but can be ignored. Library is quite big and there are lots of books which students require for their curriculum. The hostels are also well maintained and cleaned every week and the food is also average. There is one issue that only first year boys have access to hostels and rest outside.
Faculty: Teachers are helping nature well qualified and most of the PhD holders are very knowledgeable, but the CSE teachers are most hated by the students as this is a new subject not easy to understand. The course is curriculum relevant, and it makes the students ready for the industry. Semester exams as told by the seniors are not that hard and the students also get the question bank from the faculty to prepare.
Other: I have secured a good name and I have heard about Haldia as a good college in West Bengal. I have chosen CSE at Haldia. Most students choose CSE for better placement so my motive behind this is the same. Events are quite irregular due to the interruption of seniors, and campus life is average but better than the other private and some government colleges of West Bengal. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is given to the students of West Bengal, and there are extracurricular activities like sports, music, media worker etc.

Official ETS practice tests work best. Free ones on the TOEFL website match the real exam closely. Test takers recommend TOEFL Question Bank and some paid apps for speaking feedback. Combine them with YouTube tips. Avoid random books. Consistent practice beats everything else.
