The selection to IIIT Bhagalpur M.Tech programme is based on the candidate’s GATE exam score followed by the centralised counselling process regulated by the CCMT through which they are allotted a seat. The seat allotment also depends on the college cutoff and a candidate’s preference for that course and college. GATE registrations usually begin in the month of August. 

MTech programme offered by IIIT Bhagalpur isn't free of cost. Candidates are required to pay the tuition fee amount of  INR 2 Lacs at the end of the admission procedure.These fees are excluded of other fees that are payable only at the time of admission. Other than the programme fee candidates have to pay a application fee for the GATE exam while registering for the exam. No, MTech is not free of cost at IIIT Bhagalpur. The total tuition fee for M.Tech is INR 2.5 lakh. If the students find this fee a little high, they can apply for the scholarships provided by the college. Some of the scholarships provided by the college is Central Sector Scholarship for College and University Students (MHRD, Govt. of India), Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Students Belonging to Minority Communities. (Ministry of Minority Affairs, New Delhi), National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST students (Ministry of Tribal Affairs), and National Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities.

IIIT Bhagalpur provides a two-year MTech programme in five specialisations: Signal Processing and Machine Learning, Electric Vehicle Technology, VLSI & Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, and Microwave & Communication Systems. For admission to the M.Tech programme, Candidates must appear for the GATE exam followed by CCMT counselling.
