Candidates seeking to get admission are required to pay the tuition fee which ranges between INR 1.4 lakh, the fees excludes of Eamination Fee of Semester Registration Fee,  Library Fee,  Laboratory Fee, Internet Fee, etc. However NIT Sikkim does have scholarship schemes for students. NIT Sikkim don't provide direct admission to any programme offered by the institution. The admissions are strictly based on national-level entrance tests like JEE Main, GATE, and IIT JAM. The institute may also conduct a written test and personal interview for further selection. As for the M.Tech programme clearing GATE exam followed by counselling is the process for admission.

GATE 2024 registration for M.Tech admission to NIT Sikkim has started .Candidates can also fill GATE application form 2024 online at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.
