IIT BHU Placements 2026: Highest Package, Average Package, Top Companies

IIT BHU has maintained consistent placement record over the past two years. In past two years, the highest package has gone above INR 1 Crore per annum. The average recorded in 2026 and 2025 was 29 LPA and 24.49 LPA.

Yes, IIT BHU offers international placements to its students. During the placement drive 2025, out of 1416 offers made, 4 were international offers. The highest international package in 2025 was INR 2.2 Crore per annum.

GATE Qualifying Cutoff: It is minimum mark a candidate must score so that he or she is eligible for admission. But this does not mean that a candidate is selected for admission. Actually, it is fixed before announcement of GATE results. It is announced by conducting IIT and available on GOAPS. It includes qualifying marks for each paper.

Admission GATE Cutoffs: It is final opening and closing rank score fixed by participating institutes for selection of candidates. It is to be noted here that meeting admission GATE cutoff does not mean that candidates will be selected for admission. It is fixed after GATE result date. It is declared by individual participating institutes and available on their respective counselling portals (CCMT/ COAP).

The syllabus for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main examination is medium in the level of difficulty. The examination is based on class 11th and 12th syllabus of physics, chemistry and mathematics with some additional topics as well. According to the IIT BHU cutoff 2023, the closing ranks were  3358 and 3534, for the General AI category as per the first and last rounds.  BTech in  Electrical Engineering admission at IIT BHU is done through the JEE Advanced rank, followed by the JoSSA counselling process. Therefore, going by the 2023 cutoff pattern, IIT BHU BTech cutoff 2024, which is to be expected, could be in the range between 3000 and 3500.

Candidates who have BE/BTech/MSc or equivalent with (a) CGPA 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate for General/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/EWS. Category with valid GATE score BTech from IITs with CGPA of 8.00 without GATE are also eligible for admission. AMIE / Grad. IETE are eligible for the M.Tech programme at IIT BHU.

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate is the basic eligibility for MSc offered at IIT Varanasi. Candidates with a minimum of aggregate are eligible for the course.
