IIT Gandhinagar admission process is entirely based on the selection of candidates via popular entrance exams such as JEE Advanced and GATE, etc., for courses such as BTech and MTech, respectively. Yes, non-GATE candidates must appear for the institute level entrance test. However, all candidates are required to appear for the PI round for final selection. Other than GATE or the criteria state above, candidates are required to be a pass in BE/ BTech/ MSc or equivalent in appropriate branches with a minimum of 55% aggregate or 5.5 on a 10-point scale (50% aggregate for SC /ST).

Admissions to PhD at IIT Gandhinagar generally opens up toward the beginning and end of each academic year. In addition to the announced admission cycles with a prescribed deadline of application, the institute also considers applications for any time of the year for exceptional candidates. Based on the qualifications of the candidates and the need of the specialisation, applications received are processed via duly constituted selection committees at regular intervals. Currently, PhD admissions are open for Start Early courses and via a Special Drive for OBC (NCL)/ SC/ ST/ PWD catgeory students.
To apply for JEE Advanced, candidates need JEE Main application number and password. This means only the candidates who qualify JEE Main for JEE Advanced, cand apply. The IIT Gandhinagar JAM cutoff 2026 has been released till the 3rd round for admission to the MSc courses. The OBC AI category, the round 3 cutoff ranged from 439 to 459. Therefore, students need to attain a rank of at least 459 or below if they belong to this category.

If any candidate is unable to receive the OTP while applying at IIT Gandhinagar, they should try resending or reloading the sent OTP.
