- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to release in April 2026. The examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 session 1 admit cards are available for IIT Patna admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The admit card is available for students who will appear on Jan 28 and Jan 29, 2026.
- IIT JAM exam 2026 will be conducted on Feb 15, 2026.

IIT Patna Courses and Fees 2024
IT Patna offers BS, BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD courses across ten departments and various streams. After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Those below this, between the 95th and 98th percentile, should focus on attempting more mock tests and previous year question papers so that they have a better chance of clearing JEE Advanced
IIT Patna offers BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD programmes through its 10 departments. IIT Patna offers four-year BTech programmes at the undergraduate level in 11 specialisations. A two-year MTech programme in 15 specialisations and two-year MSc programmes in three specialisations at the postgraduate level. All 10 departments of IIT Patna also offer a three-year PhD programme. The mode of IIT Patna admission is online. Admission to BTech is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores, followed by JoSSA counseling. Admission to MTech and MSc is subject to GATE and IIT JAM, respectively.
Candidates are offered seat in IIT Patna BTech CSE programme based on their JEE Advanced rank. Looking at the past three-year closing rank, the cutoffs has a declining trend. The closing rank was 2811 in 2023, 3144 in 2024 and 3377 in 2025.
No, there is no provision of a student studying free at IIT Patna as per the official website. However, IIT Patna provides a range of Merit-Cum-Means scholarships to meritorious and needy students. Any UG (BTech) student or MSc student can receive these scholarships. The criteria to receive is that the annual income of a student's parents/ guardian/ family from all sources in the preceding financial year must not be more than INR 4.50 lakh. Category-wise eligibility criteria and the way in which the scholarship is offered is as follows:

Candidates aiming for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to meet these cutoff marks in JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.
IIT Patna accepts multiple state/national entrance exams other than JEE advance for admission to BSc courses. NEET, CUET, BITSAT, etc., are other exams accepted by the institute. However, candidates must make sure to first qualify for the BSc eligibility criteria. Qualified candidates just need to apply via the official website of IIT Patna.
