M.Tech. in Biosciences and Bioengineering with Specialization in Medical Devices and Diagnostics

Candidates with BTech or BE/ MCA/ MSc/ Graduation (AMIETE) with 60% aggregate or 6.0 CPI are eligible for the M.Tech in IIT Guwahati. Further, there is 0.5% CPI or 5% marks relaxation for SC/ST/PwD category candidates. Candidates must also have valid score in the national level exam GATE exam and they must also participated in the COAP Counselling (GATE not required for the sponsored category). 

The selection criteria for the M.Tech programme offered at IIT Guwahati comprises a valid GATE score followed by COAP counselling. Aspirants with a valid BTech or BE/ MCA/ MSc/ AMIETE degree with 60% aggregate or 6.0 CPI can apply. The GATE application process is carried out online (gate.iitk.ac.in). Applications must be submitted within the due date. The GATE application fee for boys is INR 1,700, INR 850 for girls, and INR 850 for SC/ST/PwD category students.

IIT Guwahati offer M.Tech for the duration of 2 years in various specialisations such as Computer Science and Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Science and Technology, etc. via 11 Departments. IIT Guwahati M.Tech admission is entrance-based. Further, the M.Tech selections are done based on the exam and counselling rounds. 

Candidates must secure a valid score in BTech or BE/ MCA/ MSc/ Graduation (AMIETE) with 60% aggregate or 6.0 CPI. The minimum marks requirement is relaxed by lowering 0.5% CPI or 5% aggregate for SC/ST/PwD category candidates. In addition to this, candidates must qualify GATE and COAP counselling.

Admission to M.Tech at IITG is entirely based on GATE score. Candidates with a GATE rank between 600 and 800 and a score between 400 and 800 will have a good chance for getting admitted in an MTech course at IITG. However, as the cutoff marks change for every admission year, hence, the number can vary. A relaxation in the required cutoff is given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.

The total tuition fee for M.Tech ranges between INR 1.1 Lacs - INR 1.7 lakh for Regular/QIP Students/Self-financed/Sponsored Students (Part-time/Full-time) who are serving as Teachers. IIT Guwahati admissions are done through national-level tests conducted by various authorities for the admission to UG, PG, and PhD level courses. Admission to all the courses is entrance-based, therefore, candidates must appear for the respective entrance exam and qualify for its cutoff. The institute offer admission based on valid scores in JEE Main/ JEE Advanced/ GATE or equivalent to qualify for the admission process.
