NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar ranks 56 under the 'Overall' category, 47 under the 'Research Institutions' category, and 32 under the 'Engineering' category.
The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech and PhD courses has concluded. Results are scheduled for release on Mar 19, 2026.
A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 registration for session 2 has closed for IIT Ropar admission to BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The session 2 exams will be conducted from Apr 2 to Apr 9, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 exam is now over for admission to the MSc course, with the results expected to be announced on Mar 20, 2026.

IIT Ropar generally does not offer direct admissions. Students have to clear the admission requirements to get admission. The institute offers seats through entrance + counselling basis only. Students can check the eligibility online.
Under the acquired rank of 12000, candidates cannot get admission for OBC Female category. First of all, IIT Ropar do not release its cutoffs based on Gender and State-level quota. MTech at IIT Ropar is a PG course offered in the full-time mode. IIT Ropar fees are cumulative of components such as one-time payment, tuition fees, hostel charges and more. The tuition fees for MTech is INR 34000 for two years. The hostel fee amount to INR 37200. Additionally, selected candidates must pay a one-time fee at the time of admission.
