2: Selection Rounds
At IIT Mandi, students are selected mainly on an entrance basis. Students have to clear all the selection rounds to get admission. The selection process is as below:
- IIT Mandi UG Admission: IIT Mandi admits students to BTech courses based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced candidate's scores. Candidates are allotted seats in JoSAA Counselling for BTech, BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) and BS courses.
- IIT Mandi PG Admission: Admission to MTech is through GATE + COAP Counselling. The institute has its in-house exam for MA admission. Candidates can check with the admission office for the selection rounds of the rest of the courses.

Yes, students can get admission in IIT Mandi without JEE exam. But this is not applicable for the flagship BTech programme.
