Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi offers different scholarship schemes based on merit-cum-means, HTRA, and economic status (General/ OBC/ SC-ST), etc. Fee scholarships are only offered for Research students, such as the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF). Commonly asked questions On Admission
MTech candidates can apply for HTRA scholarship of INR 12,400 in IIT Mandi. Aspirants applying for the scholarship shall ensure that they fulfil the eligibility requirements. It must be noted that due to the lack of latest information, the mentioned details are as per the past years’ data available on the website.
MA fees is INR 20,000. Candidates opting for hostel facilities will have to pay charges up to INR 88,000. This fee is calculated as per the first year/semester fees and hence the actual fee may vary.
Aspirants with a valid bachelor’s degree in the relevant specialisation are eligible to apply for the PG course. Admission to M.Tech at IIT Mandi is based on merit in GATE followed by COAP counselling. Candidates with a score equal to more than the cutoff become eligible to participate in the counselling round. In addition, IIT graduates with an 8.0 CGPA or above are exempted from the GATE score requirement and can apply directly.

IIT Mandi offers selective seats. The intake is different for each programme & specialisation. Students have to complete the admission process to get a seat. The intake is as below:

For MTech, candidates need to visit the official website of GATE to register online. The application fee for male students is INR 1,700, and INR 850 for female students.
Eligible candidates who are applying directly to the official website of IIT Mandi, can pay the application fee for IIT Mandi MTech admission is INR 200 (General/EWS/OBC/OBC (NCL)/Transgender/Foreign Nationals). The application fee for Women/SC/ST/PD is INR 100.
Every year, NTA conducts the JEE Main entrance exam for the selection of eligible candidates in IIT, NIT and IIITs. The admission process for JEE Main 2026 (session 1) registrations has been completed. JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was held from January 21 to 30, and session 2 will be held from April 2 to 9. IIT Mandi BTech registrations start with the release of JEE Main application forms. The registrations for JEE session one goes on from Oct till Nov, a year prior to the admission session. While the registrations for session two are carried out in February. Candidates who pass JEE Mains need to apply
