A detailed review of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College.
Placements: Placement of the ECE department is good, nearly 90% of students got placed. Top recruiting companies like BEL, L&T, Birla, and Opus Paints. The top package offered is 12 LPA-18 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA-7 LPA. Students got internships in NIT Jamshedpur, Tata Power, L&T, DVC, etc. Top roles include senior production engineer and supply chain supervisor, or in the R&D department of companies.
Infrastructure: We have a big library with all the books needed for the curriculum. Students can borrow books for the whole semester. Wi-Fi and LAN ports are available in each classroom. At the hostel, we have a small library, a mess, and a canteen that is clean, and the food is good. The campus hospital provides the first aid required. We have a dedicated sports club, and one can enjoy it as much as they want.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They offer mentorship and guidance at each step of college life, one can contact their respective mentor for any help, and their teaching quality is interactive and super interesting. The curriculum is a little outdated, but it still focuses on the basics of ECE, and students with little effort will get very good skill sets. Sem exams are very detailed and focus on basics, and nearly 90%-95% of students pass the exams with good efforts being the key.

About quality engineering education.
Placements: Almost 90% of the students are placed in our course. Highest salary is 54 LPA. Average salary is 10 LPA. The lowest 4 LPA - 5 LPA package offered in our course. BHEL, L&T, etc., are the top recruiting companies for our course. 70% of students got internships from our course. Software engineer, security analyst, etc., are the top roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are available for our department. Overall, it has good laboratory. We have good library system. Classrooms are good, and many other things are available. Hostel facilities are also good (Wi-Fi available, good food, many big size playgrounds, etc).
Faculty: Professors are very helpful. They have good qualifications and well knowledge. Their teaching quality is also very good. If the students follow the instructions of teachers and work hard, then they will be ready for the industrial environment.

Satisfied because of faculty, average placements in 2025 in ECE, and infrastructure is not so good.
Placements: IN ECE near about 80% of students are placed in this year. The highest package is 12 LPA for ECE this year and average approximately is 5 LPA. PSU like BHEL has recruited students of ECE on campus. Its a great opportunity for students to selected in PSU. But most of the students got placed in IT sector. Very few core company visit JGEC campus. High-technext, Techvein, TCS, Aditya Birla Group and many more companies specially for ECE. This year the highest package from JGEC is 54 LPA in CSE from Google (Off-campus).
Infrastructure: As it is a old college it's infrastructure is not so good. Library has many books but new books are not available there. It has a big green campus area of 118 acres. There are many opportunities of playing. There are 4 hostels for boys and 1 ladies hostel. Foods are available in mess and canteen and it's good. Jalpaiguri Government Hospital is very close from college.
Faculty: Many faculty members are helpful. They are highly educated and teaching quality is awesome. There are many academic clubs which makes students industry ready. It is a autonomous college. Semester exams are standard is hard. Pass percentage is 70%-80%. It is one of the best college under WBJEE.
Other: ECE students has many opportunities in both their field and it sector. ECE has raising future. Our college has organise many fests throughout the year. Sristi, North Bengal's the biggest techno-management fest is organised by JGEC. Students have opportunity for higher studies or internship in NIT Jamshedpur. It has a strong alumni background. Many scholarships are awarded to students of high amount.

Placements: JGEC overall is a good college, and this year the highest placement is around 54 LPA. The average placement is around 10.5 LPA. The top recruiters are Google, L&T, BEL, and others. Students landed internships at Google, Microsoft, GFG, L&T, and many more. The Electronics and Communication Engineering Branch got the highest package of 12 LPA. Overall, the college is good for students.
Infrastructure: Though JGEC doesn't have advanced laboratories for ECE. The laboratories that are present in the college are more or less good and well-maintained, good for a B.Tech degree. The campus is big enough with different clubs. The hostels are also more or less good. Talking about sports and games, there is a sports club for that.
Faculty: JGEC has a good teaching faculty who are highly qualified and knowledgeable, and their teaching quality is just superb. If someone attends the class minutely, then the classwork is enough for him/her. Semester exams are moderate, not so hard, and more or less everyone passed who studied well the entire semester.

Good placements in 2023, Really vast and green campus .
Placements: Almost 80% of students in our course are placed. Recruiting companies are Amazon, Juspay, Celebal Technologies, Hexaware Technologies, Ericsson, BEL, etc. Mostly SDE and SWE roles are offered. The highest package in our course is 27 LPA and the lowest is 7.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure in our department and also other departments is well. Labs are modernized with good facilities. Modern classrooms are available. There are a lot of books in our library. Four hostels for boys and one hostel for girls are available in our college. There are lots of opportunities for sports and games like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, etc.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful and also qualified from prestigious institutes. Our syllabus is designed to make the students industry-ready. Our college provides industrial training in collaboration with industrial trainers. Our college is autonomous, and semester exam questions are moderate. The pass percentage in our college is 87%.
Other: From my childhood, I have been passionate about engineering, especially in computing and core electronics. Each year, two fests are organized in our college: one is a cultural fest, JECLET, and another is a technical fest, SRISTI. There is vast greenery on the campus of our college. SVMCM, National scholarships, and also a lot of private scholarships are available to provide financial support to the students.
