The best faculty of sociology in DU.

Placements: The majority of the students did not sit for the placements in my department as they wanted to continue for future academic endeavors, but the average package for a placement in LSR is around 10-14 LPA. Depending on your skills, it could go higher. The placement cell of the college is very active and offers internships as well as placements for the students. I personally did not sit for them. So I'm unaware of it.

Infrastructure: There is a central Wi-Fi, and in fact, there are two libraries, including a reference section which remains open till 7, so that is amazing. The new building has airy and big rooms, and during summer exams, the college provides coolers in the rooms. There are 3 food spots in the college, so you never get bored, and the food here is pretty good. We have a medical room and a mental health counsellor is available, who can also have online sessions if you want. The college has an amazing sports faculty with Manu Bhaker ( the Olympian) being from here.

Faculty: The faculty in my department is really well-read and is one of the most learned and humble people. Class discussions are not limited to the syllabus but even stretch to current burning topics. Exams, however, can be stressful, but the marking is pretty decent. Pros take internal assessment and continuous assessment seriously, so don't miss out on those, and 66.6% attendance is required to appear for exams.

Other: I chose this course because I genuinely had an interest in it, and over time, it made me more confident as a person and has shaped me into a better human. LSR holds the biggest fest TARANG. It is an amazing, joyful occasion, and I recommend attending it. Besides, every department has its own academic conferences at least once a year.

Infrastructure, facilities and placements in 2019 were good.

Placements: Almost 25% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered is 5.5 LPA, the average salary package offered is 4 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are TCS, Wipro, Accenture and Bajaj. Almost 25% of the students from our course got an internship in companies like TCS, Wipro and Accenture. Top roles offered to the students are an assistant software developer and back-end developer.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of our college are good. Wi-Fi, library and labs are very good, but medical facilities and sports are not that good. Quality of food in the mess is of good quality, and canteen is also good. Hostel time is not that satisfying, so you have to come back to the hostel before 8 pm.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable. Quality of teaching is good, and you can easily understand the topic. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Teaching is good, and you can easily crack any exam related to your course. Teachers are always ready to help you, and they want you to be the best. Teachers ask you if they can help you by conducting seminars.

Other: I have taken admission in this college because the rating was good. Events conducted here are very good. Wi-Fi connection is good, and you can easily learn online whatever you want to learn. Our college is very good at providing scholarships, and faculty members also work hard to provide scholarship to students.
