NIT Delhi admission 2025 starts with the registration process for JEE Main January session. Admission to NIT Delhi is subject to various national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main and GATE. Consisting of six departments that offer BTech, MTech and PhD across various specialisations, the flagship programme of NIT Delhi is BTech which is offered across three specialisations. As per the IIIT Allahabad cutoff 2023, the Last Round closing rank for BTech ranged between 5924 and 9558, among which Information Technology was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 closing rank for BTech ranged between 4817 and 8428 for BTech.

BTech Eligibility Criteria. Candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech programme at NIT are required to pass their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as mandatory subjects. The modes of National Institute of Technology Delhi admission are offline and online. Admission to several programmes is based on entrance exam tests and merit. At the undergraduate level, the college offers four-year BTech programmes to various course students. At the postgraduate level, the college offers two-year M.Tech programmes to students. Apply as soon as the seats are available for admission as there are a limited number of seats available for students.
All the programmes of NIT Delhi are entrance exam based and seats are allotted through individual counselling. M.Tech seats are allotted through CCMT counselling. For NIT Delhi M.Tech admissions, GATE scores are a must. For candidates who wish to apply for the course through the centralised d CCMT (Centralized Counseling for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.) process., NIT Delhi follows the rules and regulations of the CCMT admission process that requires a valid score in the GATE entrance examination for admission in regular M.Tech PG programme.
However, in some instances, NIT Delhi does accept candidates without a valid score in the GATE examination. But this admission procedure can be done if some seats are vacant after GATE -based admissions, some of the vacant seats can be offered to sponsored or part-time students. It must be noted, that to secure these vacant seats at NIT Delhi requires candidates to fulfil certain eligibility criteria i.e., candidates must have a certain period of work experience, a recommendation letter, certain scores in graduation, and might need to qualify for an interview conducted by the institute.

Students who have completed their PG degree with 60% aggregate or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale along with a UG degree in Engineering or Technology with 70% aggregate are eligible to apply for PhD from NIT Delhi.
