Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore started the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 registration on Aug 30. GATE application form 2024 is available online at the exam official website. Aspirants can visit the website to apply. NIT Sikkim accepts the GATE score, followed by the GATE CCMT Counselling process for the MTech admission. NIT Sikkim cutoff 2023 for M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is 423. The cutoff is for General category candidates in the All India quota at the National Institute of Technology Sikkim. For the OBC AI category, the cutoff was 377. This suggests that the cutoff for the reserved category typically goes lower than that of the unreserved category. MTech cut-off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant. As per the NIRF report 2024, a total of 31 MTech students graduated in 2023. Out of these, 20 were placed during 2023 placements. This makes the placement rate almost 65%. Earlier, out of 34 MTech graduates 12 were placed during 2022 placements. This makes the placement rate 35%. From 2021 to 2023, a fluctuating trend was recorded in the MTech placement rate. Computer Science Engineering is the most popular specialisation under M.Tech programme in NIT Sikkim after BTech programme . The cutoff for M.Tech CSE was 408 in 2021 which decreased to 385 in 2022 indicating lesser demand of M.Tech course among candidates.As for the placement, NIT Sikkim has an concluded its 2022 placements with 80.84% and the M.Tech students received 100% internship oppurtunities in reputed organisations.

For the academic year 2021-2022, NIT Sikkim achieved an overall placement rate of 80.84%, and all its students secured internships in renowned organizations. Capgemini, Bosch, Siemens, TCS, Aarti Industries Limited, among others, were the top recruiters at NIT Sikkim in 2022. The total tuition fee for the M.Tech programme is INR 1.4 Lacs and the average salary received after the completion of the course is INR  7.3 lakh, considering the total tuition fee and the salary secured this seems to be a good return on investment.

No, M.Tech programme isn't free at NIT Sikkim. Candidates seeking to get admission are required to pay the tuition fee which ranges between INR 1.4 lakh, the fees excludes of Eamination Fee of Semester Registration Fee,  Library Fee,  Laboratory Fee, Internet Fee, etc. However NIT Sikkim does have scholarship schemes for students. The NIT Sikkim CSE average package or other placement details are not out yet. However, the overall placement percentage for BTech has been released. During 2024 placements, 75.37% of BTech students were placed. Earlier, 83.70% of BTech students were placed in the 2023 drive. NIT Sikkim admission procedure 2025 for all the courses is different. Candidates have to apply via various national level entrance exam and central counselling to get admission into the institute. Find below NIT Sikkim admission process 2025:

• Candidates seeking admission at NIT Sikkim are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. After appearing for the respective entrance exams, candidates have to apply for the counselling process for the final seat allotment.
• For its flagship BTech course, NIT Sikkim admits students with a valid JEE Main score and are allotted seats through JoSAA Counselling. Admission to M.Tech is done through GATE, followed by CCMT Counselling. Similarly for MSc admission, IIT JAM and CCMN Counselling are required. However, PhD admission requires to appear in the Institution entrance exam and PI. Additionally, NIT Sikkim conducts IAT (Institute Admission Test),  for admission to the left-over seats from the CCMN and CCMNT counselling for MSc/MTech.
• The cutoff for BTech, MTech, and MSc courses is released by the respective counselling bodies.The shortlisted candidates are then required to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats.

NIT Sikkim CCMN cutoff 2025 has been released for the last round. The cutoff was released for admission to MSc in Chemistry. The last round closing rank for the same course, among the General AI category candidates was 1800. Therefore, among the General AI category candidates, it is necessary to get a rank of 1800 or below to get admission into the college. Among the OBC AI category candidates, the cutoff rank was 2348. For the SC AI and ST AI category candidates, the CCMN ranks closed at 5538 and 5945. 

Yes, NIT Sikkim be considered a good college for engineering. The institute is an autonomous institute recognised by the UGC and approved by the AICTE. While its recent NIRF 2024 ranking places it in the 151-200 band for engineering, and its median placement packages are modest at around INR 8.50 LPA for B.Tech.
