Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore started the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 registration on Aug 30. Computer Science Engineering is the most popular specialisation under M.Tech programme in NIT Sikkim after BTech programme . The cutoff for M.Tech CSE was 408 in 2021 which decreased to 385 in 2022 indicating lesser demand of M.Tech course among candidates.As for the placement, NIT Sikkim has an concluded its 2022 placements with 80.84% and the M.Tech students received 100% internship oppurtunities in reputed organisations.

NIT Sikkim M.Tech application process is done through GATE application process. Candidates need to visit the official website of GATE gate2024.iisc.ac.in. The process of applying includes registration, filling out the online application form, uploading the required documents, and payment of the application fee. 

The eligibility criteria for M.Tech at NIT Sikkim require students to qualify for the BTech/ BE programme with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA from a recognised university. The institutes also accept admission based on the GATE entrance exams. 

NIT Sikkim cut off for M.Tech was released as scores for different categories belonging to the AI and HS quotas. NIT Sikkim GATE cutoff 2025 ranged between 360 and 432, wherein M.Tech in Communication and Signal Processing emerged as the most sought-after specialisation for admission in the General AI category.

NIT Sikkim accepts the GATE score, followed by the GATE CCMT Counselling process for the MTech admission. NIT Sikkim cutoff 2023 for M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is 423. The cutoff is for General category candidates in the All India quota at the National Institute of Technology Sikkim. For the OBC AI category, the cutoff was 377. The NIT Sikkim CSE average package or other placement details are not out yet. However, the overall placement percentage for BTech has been released. During 2024 placements, 75.37% of BTech students were placed. Earlier, 83.70% of BTech students were placed in the 2023 drive. NIT Sikkim admission procedure 2025 for all the courses is different. Candidates have to apply via various national level entrance exam and central counselling to get admission into the institute. Find below NIT Sikkim admission process 2025:

• Candidates seeking admission at NIT Sikkim are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. After appearing for the respective entrance exams, candidates have to apply for the counselling process for the final seat allotment.
• For its flagship BTech course, NIT Sikkim admits students with a valid JEE Main score and are allotted seats through JoSAA Counselling. Admission to M.Tech is done through GATE, followed by CCMT Counselling. Similarly for MSc admission, IIT JAM and CCMN Counselling are required. However, PhD admission requires to appear in the Institution entrance exam and PI. Additionally, NIT Sikkim conducts IAT (Institute Admission Test),  for admission to the left-over seats from the CCMN and CCMNT counselling for MSc/MTech.
• The cutoff for BTech, MTech, and MSc courses is released by the respective counselling bodies.The shortlisted candidates are then required to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats.
