GATE 2024 registration for M.Tech admission to NIT Sikkim has started .Candidates can also fill GATE application form 2024 online at gate2024.iisc.ac.in. GATE 2024 exam will be conducted on February 3, 4, 10, and 11,   2024. IISc Bangalore has released the detailed GATE 2024 information brochure. NIT Sikkim M.Tech application process is done through GATE application process. Candidates need to visit the official website of GATE gate2024.iisc.ac.in. The process of applying includes registration, filling out the online application form, uploading the required documents, and payment of the application fee. 

NIT Sikkim offers M.Tech programmes with a duration for two years. M.Tech programme at NIT Sikkim is offered in five specialisations namely:

• Computer Science & Engineering,
• Control, Power & Electric Drives Electronics,
• Communication Engineering,
• Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and
• VLSI & Embedded Systems.

The Admission eligibility criteria for the M.Tech programme includes Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree with 60% aggregate. GATE and CCMT counselling is prefer for the selection criteria.

The total fee for the MTech programme at NIT Sikkim is INR 1.4 lakh. The total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year, hence is indicative. ST/SC & PH students are fully exempted from paying tuition fees, while the most economically backward students (whose family income is less than INR 1 lakh per annum) are granted full remission of the tuition fee. Other economically backward students, whose family income falls between INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakh per annum, are granted a remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.

The basic eligibility criteria to apply for the M.Tech course at NIT Sikkim is that the candidate must have completed a BE/BTech degree in a relevant field from a recognised university or institute. Additionally, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their undergraduate degree programme. Further, the selection procedure includes GATE and CCMT exams.

No, M.Tech programme isn't free at NIT Sikkim. Candidates seeking to get admission are required to pay the tuition fee which ranges between INR 1.4 lakh, the fees excludes of Eamination Fee of Semester Registration Fee,  Library Fee,  Laboratory Fee, Internet Fee, etc. However NIT Sikkim does have scholarship schemes for students. The eligibility criteria for M.Tech at NIT Sikkim require students to qualify for the BTech/ BE programme with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA from a recognised university. The institutes also accept admission based on the GATE entrance exams. 

NIT Sikkim don't provide direct admission to any programme offered by the institution. The admissions are strictly based on national-level entrance tests like JEE Main, GATE, and IIT JAM. The institute may also conduct a written test and personal interview for further selection. As for the M.Tech programme clearing GATE exam followed by counselling is the process for admission.
