Reason why I chose NIT Mangalore.

Placements: From the third semester on, the students are eligible for campus placement. There are a lot of companies that visit campus and offer placement to eligible students. Some companies visiting campus are L&T and Amazon. CSE, IT, and ECE students have higher placement rates. Our department placement percentage is 80%. An internship is given by L&T, Atkins, for ongoing metro and tunneling projects. Here we get a chance to learn design. The median package is 6 lpa.

Infrastructure: NIT is the top institute; our college is known for activities, concerts, and festivals. There are a lot of clubs, both technical and cultural. Students can join any one of the clubs and showcase there special talent. There are 2 well-equipped libraries on campus, which is sufficient for all students needs. There are a lot of labs and research centers for students. A lot of importance is given to sports on campus. For first-year students, hostel rooms are shared by three people; wherever second-year students are, single-shared rooms are allotted. Hostels are specious and well-equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi. The quality of the food is not great, and students from different states need to adjust to the food. Registration for hostels is placed in the college app.

Faculty: Teachers in college are very helpful, more curious and teach practicals and design. Teachers are highly qualified Ph.D.s from top Indian institutes. The NIT curriculum is rigorous but it prepares students to face real-life problems. Exams are administered four times during the semester. Two quizzes, mid-semester and end-semester, are conducted in college. The difficulty level is high (8/10).

Other: The college is located in a forest area, and there are a lot of snakes on campus. Auditorium capacity is less and the number of students is higher.
