B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2024

I am satisfied with this college.
Placements: The mechanical branch has average placements. Most of the students got IT jobs with a salary package of 2.5 LPA - 15 LPA. The salary package offered by core companies is around 2.5 LPA - 12 LPA. Core placements are conducted outside of campus. Students are provided with graduate apprentice trainees in core companies with a salary package of 3 LPA - 8 LPA. Students can join core companies like HVAC, etc. Students can join IT companies like Capgemini, TCS, Accenture, etc. Placements are average in our college.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility in our college. Wi-Fi is available in labs. Mechanical engineering labs are outdated. Classrooms are average. Our canteen provides average food. There is no football playground. The infrastructure of our college is average. We have only a few classrooms. Often students are shifted to labs for lectures. Benches are crowded and comfortable for taller boys. Our college provides good facilities.
Faculty: The syllabus is provided by Mumbai University. Our course provides less industrial and practical knowledge. Exams are easy if we prepare. Teachers are helpful. We have to focus on the industry rather than theoretical knowledge. Our teachers should provide more lab sessions for students. They are good. Our professors do not provide many study materials. They teach us by using PPTs.
Other: Mechanical engineering is a core branch. I chose this course to gain practical and industrial knowledge. Mechanical engineering combines all the coding languages including Python, C, C+, etc. Our teachers should teach us virtually. Events are good. Extracurricular activities are held in our college. The management does not give priority to the mechanical branch. Our college provides scholarships to SC, ST, and OBC category students. The campus surroundings are good. Our college is 20 minutes from Nerul Railway Station and 5 minutes from LP Bus Stop.

Really good infrastructure and helpful faculty.
Placements: Mass recruiters come to college, so approximate 60% students from comps and IT are placed. For mechanical the numbers are less as students demand core companies. The average package offered for freshers is around 5lakhs per annum. The top recruiting companies are Jio, TCS and Infosys.
Infrastructure: The classrooms and Library are well maintained and loaded with books for all branches of engineering. The Wi-Fi is made available for students for their project work. The laboratories for mechanical are good but certainly need additions. The food at canteen is good and the college doesn't have a ground but all sports requirements are fulfilled by the college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, the course curriculum is based on the guidelines of Mumbai university. The difficulty level is good enough as major students tend to get KTs in the first year itself. The passing percentage of the college is around 70%. .

Review of SIES Graduate School of Technology.
Placements: Placements are very good for the computer, IT and EXTC engineering courses here. Mechanical engineering students also get good companies and opportunities to opt. Moreover, our college also has a huge alumni base, and the management helps engineering students for further opportunities.
Infrastructure: Canteen services of SIES are one of the well-maintained services I have ever seen. Staff members take appropriate hygiene measures while serving the food to students. The quality of the food remains well maintained and is checked strictly. So, there will be no issues regarding it.
Faculty: Teaching staff members here are good. There is a good combination of experienced teachers and recently graduated teachers, which helps in providing an abundant balance of experience and innovation to the students. Teachers are qualified from India's well-reputed institutes.

Good infrastructure and placements, and lively atmosphere.
Placements: Placements in our college are really good compared to other colleges. The brand name itself helps to recognize the identity. Lot of legendary companies like JSW Steel, Jacobs, L&T, TCS, etc. came for recruitment in 2015. The batch strength was nominal, so the opportunities were vast and practical.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided in the college are really excellent with good helping assistants. All the equipment and computers are new and well-maintained at a timely watch. Quality of food in the canteen is moderate, but it is quite cheap comparatively. The infrastructure of college is quite decent, and the classrooms are well-equipped with projector and screens. There are no hostel rooms, but however, the college provides assistance for accommodation outside in nearby locations.
Faculty: Faculty members here are well-trained and have good knowledge about the course. Almost all faculty members are PhD holders and have good project ideas and guidance capacity. Teaching methods used here are mainly classroom lectures and presentations, and practical application is lacking. The course curriculum is strictly based on Mumbai University, and the college has various committees like Baja Sae, Rac, etc.
Other: The college conducts two events; one is a cultural event named Tatva Moksh Laksh (TML), and another is a technical event named Cognition. Apart from these, each branch organises their own technical events.

Satisfied with the college, and it is one of the best colleges in Navi Mumbai.
Placements: The placements at our college are good. Graphwise placement are given in the college sites. The companies like TCS, Cadbury, L&T, and Infosys visit the campus for placements. The salary package offered to students was around 6-9 LPA, and it depends on the skills of the student. The placements are not done yet for our batch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure on the campus is good. The college doesn't have a ground to play. The canteens on the campus are average. The hostels are not available on the campus, and the labs are excellent. The classrooms are average. Different authors books are available in the library, and the cafeteria on the campus is enjoyable.
Faculty: The faculty members in our college are good and helpful. At the end semester, an extra session is conducted on the campus for students. The faculty over here are masters in the particular subjects. Every year, two programmes are conducted on the campus, and they are technical and sports. Some of the faculty members are rude, but they are helpful.

Satisfied with the teaching and support provided by them.
Placements: Our batch placements are not done yet, but the placements in our college are good. The year-wise graph can be seen on the website. Companies like Cadbury, TCS, Infosys, Oracle, L&T, etc., visit the college. The salary offered is 3 lacs to 6 lacs per annum, depending on skills and knowledge of the student.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available in the whole campus. Classrooms are good and under surveillance. Medicals facilities are available. College does not have a ground to play, this is its drawback. The library is very good, and all are arranged properly and maintained. Canteens are average.
Faculty: The faculty members in our college are very good, but some are rude, but they always help students. Extra sessions are carried out throughout the semester so that a student can develop his/her resume. Most of the faculty members have done Masters, and some have done PhDs, and some are pursuing. Flip classrooms and some methods are used by teachers.
Other: The fests are awesome. There are 2 fests overall, one is technical, it mostly includes the games where technology is used which are made by students, the second is cultural fest known as TML, it is the biggest fest.

SIES - certainly not for engineering!
Placements: The placement was really pathetic, to say the least. The Training and Placement professor from our department was so inefficient in bringing any companies and so efficient in promises that all students had to search for jobs on their own after the completion of their BE. The only chance we got was Schindler, after the completion of college in which the students did not know how the eligible candidates were chosen for the interview (HR). Schindler picked one from our batch with a package of 3.3-3.5 LPA (unsure of the exact value). Students were forced to enter in pool campus interviews in the dire need to get placed. Internships too were very hard to find by. In short, the student had to do everything on his/her own to get something.
Infrastructure: The only positive about the college that one can say will be the infrastructure. A relatively new college (formed in 2002) with Mechanical being introduced in 2011, all the equipment in labs and workshop and machine shop were up to the mark. Classrooms were neat and tidy. The library was well equipped with all the necessary books. The only drawback would be the lack of space for physical activities caused due to the congestion caused by incorporation of MBA, Engineering, MSc-BSc, a temple, everything on a 5-acre campus. But I heard that recently, the college had run into trouble regarding the accreditation and many of the juniors were travelling to other faraway colleges for their lab experiments, in which 5-6 experiments would be completed within a day itself. Such sorry state that you don't have your own labs for studying!
Faculty: The faculty is the backbone of any institution. True, genuine faculty is very hard to find at SIES, with just a couple (maybe) that can be deemed knowledgeable. There are many so called professors who possess the dual quality of no knowledge and cannot be approached too, with their only excitement being watching students burn. Industry exposure was only because it was mentioned in the syllabus, otherwise not and nobody showed any interest in making us aware of the current industrial practices (though we had one good opportunity to visit JSW, Dolvi plant with some good efforts by one professor but he is no more at this institute). Some good faculty members are left, some arrogant personalities came and tortured but left and some few knowledgeable had arrived when my time was up at the institute.
Other: I particularly remember, the first day of college, we had to get down at Nerul station and either share a rickshaw or walk to the college. Since it was the first day, I thought I'll spare the walk and hopped onto a shared rickshaw which already had a couple of seniors sitting and was waiting for a third and a last one to start the ride. When I introduced myself that I am a fresher here at SIES, their first words were - 'why did you select this college?'. I realised it too late, I hope someone reads this and doesn't repeat the same mistake.

SIESGST at a glance for technical enthusiasts.
Placements: Nearly 100% placement target is achieved. Also, many of the students opt out of this criteria as they wish to pursue higher postgraduation studies such as MS/M.Tech. But on an average, everyone in the 2015 batch had an average package of around 3 to 3.5 LPA, and the highest was around 5 LPA. Companies offer diverse profiles and as far as the final year industrial project is concerned, the students have to fetch them on their own.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is a plus point at SIESGST when compared to the other colleges in Mumbai. The classrooms and other premises are cleaned regularly and maintained well. Also, projectors are available whenever required. The laboratories and workshops are also very well-equipped. The library has ample of books and relevant reading materials. The computers and printers are also available at the students' disposal for any constructive usage.
Faculty: The course curriculum is strictly according to the University of Mumbai. Additionally, many extra activities for student's skill development are also carried simultaneously. The attendance of minimum 75% is mandatory. The faculty members from diverse fields of experience are available for guidance. The college is very much active in cultural and technical fests.

If you are considering this college, then it is safe to say that your marks in the region of maybe about 100-120. This means that you haven't got that many options in terms of good colleges. To be honest, SIES lacks in infrastructure when compared to Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science or B
