Just don't try to join this college.
Placements: Very disappointing placement experience. I have done EEE at this university, and to my surprise, there were only about 60 students in the whole EEE department. Well, having a small number is certainly not a problem, but that is not the case here. Only very few, and I mean only 2-3 professors, were delivering good lectures; others were just book-reading in the class. Now you can guess the level of placement. In the pre-final year, 3 guys were placed in a company that too was from IT, not relating to EE, and at the end of the final year, around 10 students were placed with an average package of 4 LPA, not more than 6 LPA. This is the situation at this college.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and other things are just average, and the courses designed were also average; they are actually not well implemented. Though classrooms were good, you are not allowed to bring phones to your class (which seems more like a school than an engineering college). What a joke! Hostels are okay, and by okay in a sense, only the rooms having AC are okay; other rooms are just too poorly maintained and are very difficult to stay in, as they are closely built with very little room for the air to run, and please don't even ask about the food; I barely ate in the hostel mess.
Faculty: Yes, some teachers were really helpful and showed genuine interest in teaching what was really necessary for the students; others were just working so they could get their pockets filled every month. Exams are kind of a joke in this college. I don't know how they correct students' marks.

I am very satisfied with this college.
Placements: Placements are very good. Almost 70-75% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered was 74 LPA. The average salary package offered was 10 LPA. Placement process is easy according to our seniors. Our college is very supportive in terms of placements.
Infrastructure: Our college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities, and equipment. Classrooms are well-maintained. It also provides a decent library. There is a huge convention hall. Separate hostels are available for both boys and girls. Free Wi-Fi is also available in our hostel.
Faculty: Many teachers are available to help us. All faculty members are well-trained. Their teaching method is also better. semester exams are easy to clear as it is mostly practical. This college is autonomous so they select very useful courses in open electives which helps the student to gather knowledge. Semester exams are conducted after 45 days. It also conducted model exams 1 and 2 before the final exams.
Other: There are a lot of celebrations in our college. Fests are conducted like cultural events, sports meets, and festivals.

Vel Tech High Tech, Avadi - review.
Placements: Only 8 students in our department got placed during this academic year. The placements classes are held, but the students didn't get placed in many companies as expected. Also, very little companies come to select the students offering a very low initial salaries.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college has a good design, but free space is not available due to the open grounds. It is not suitable for those who expect the college to be of the international standard. The canteen is better, but not the best while compared to the university which has a grand look that a student eagerly expects. Also, there will only be 2 events per year.
Faculty: The staffs are good, but not very supportive due to their strict rule of making student getting marks. This degrades them from achieving new imminent ideas and visualizing their own thoughts. The college also makes an industrial visit to some companies as to make the students get an exposure.

The placement is average. The college has a good infrastructure.
Placements: The placements of the college are average with the companies coming in like Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys for information technology. The average package offered to the students was around 3 lakhs per annum. The students are also encouraged to do projects, industrial visits, and internships.
Infrastructure: The college is provided with a decent infrastructure with labs containing the latest equipment in the industries. The students are provided with different varieties of food based on their choice. The transport facility is excellent, and transport facility is connecting the college to the various areas of the city.
Faculty: We have a mixture of both experienced and new faculty members. They also help the students in preparing for their placements by conducting various sessions on the campus recruitment. They also act as a mentor for students during their final year projects.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty.
Placements: In my batch, almost 20 students out of 65 got placed. For them, the average pay was around 2.3-2.5 lakh per annum.
The main recruiters were IBM, Wipro and CSC.
All the companies came to campus placements were all IT companies.
The placed students got job role such as technical support, software developer etc.
It varies from one company to other.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was not up to the mark. There isn't sufficient equipment for students in labs.
Students were not allowed to use even the lab internet during break hours. Sports are of no importance.
Even RO water is not available.
The canteen food was average and the quality can be improved as of my experience.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members in this college were alumni of this college. Those who complete their MTech in VEL Tech University can get jobs here.
They prepare notes, dictate them in classrooms and rush up the topics.
The faculty-student ratio was around 65:1.
In terms of industry exposure, there is nothing like that.
The curriculum was very old and needs to be updated according to industry needs.
