Jeppiaar engineering college review.

Placements: The placements in the college campus have come down in the recent years when compared to past few years. But still, good companies are entering and picking students. The expectations of the company are kept in mind, and placement training is provided accordingly.

Infrastructure: The campus infrastructure is good when compared to most of the other engineering colleges. Trees and plants are around the campus providing a pleasant surrounding and atmosphere. The laboratories are present in every department separately. The library here consists of more than 30,000 books, and computer access is also allowed.

Faculty: The teaching staffs are friendly and are loaded with knowledge. Though not in the classroom, personally they clarify doubts and tune and motivate students to do projects and paper presentation. The college is affiliated to Anna University and the portions for the newly joined 1st years has been changed.

Other: Workshops, industrial visits and the other events are regularly conducted. The internship training is also arranged by the department since they have MOU with many companies.

Excellent infrastructure, great hostel, faculty needs improvement, decent placements.

Placements: Placements are on an average level. About 30-40% of students get placed. The salary offered is almost always below 5 lakhs per annum. Most placements are from IT companies like Infosys and Wipro. The placement percentage is very less for a college with such world-class infrastructure.

Infrastructure: It has a top-class infrastructure and almost every equipment is available in labs, even very expensive ones which are not usually present in many colleges. All classrooms are digital with computers and projectors. A very good facilities team is there which addresses any issue with utmost care. Hostel rooms are of the best quality but no air-conditioning available in the hostel. All hostel rooms have 2 attached bathrooms. Great food is served and non-veg food served in the hostel on 6 days of the week. A great infrastructure is available for basketball. Multiple fiber and hard courts available for basketball. A decent infrastructure is available for tennis, badminton, football, cricket, volleyball and kho-kho. A pharmacy facility is available with medical help available 24x7 and a doctor visits the hostel daily. The only issue I faced was that the campus gets flooded during heavy rains and the drainage is poor. But the facilities team usually clears that up within a day.

Faculty: A classroom usually has about 50-75 students. All classrooms are digital. Hence, the faculty members can use a variety of digital artifacts in teaching. The curriculum followed is set by Anna University. But the overall teaching quality is very poor. Most of the faculty members are just qualified with an M.E and there is an acute shortage of faculty members with higher qualification. Also, industrial exposure is almost zero. Students have to arrange for industrial internships/training on their own with zero help from the college. Even getting the necessary documents to attend the training from the college is a very tedious process.
