According to the exam pattern of XET 2025, the total marks allotted to the test are 100. Each section (objective and subjective) will hold 50 marks. Each question in the objective section will hold 1 mark while the 50 marks allotted to the subjective section will be divided among 4 questions. There will be no negative marking in the test.
The application form will be available on the official website only. The candidates can fill the form and pay the application fee online. The official website is xaviercomm.org. XET Syllabus 2026 for the Objective Section
Important topics that candidates should study to perform well in the objective section of the XIC Entrance Test (XET) exam for admission in Mass Communication PG Diploma courses are as mentioned below:
Language Skills
In this section of the exam, the language ability of aspirants will be tested. Questions will be from topics related to correcting the spellings, singular, plural, synonyms, antonyms, idioms and phrases, one-word substitutes, etc.
General Knowledge and Knowledge of Media
In this section questions related to general knowledge and current affairs awareness will be asked wherein an aspirant’s aptitude regarding the same will be tested. Thus, candidates need to be up-to-date with political, social and economic happenings in the country and abroad.
Logical and Analytical Skills
In this section, a candidate’s ability to identify a problem and the means to solve it is tested. Aspirants should practice questions on topics like series, blood relations, directions, critical reasoning, syllogism, and analogy.

Aspirants should start preparing for the examination at least four months before the test date. XIC Entrance Test (XET) preparation requires long-term planning thus one must start early. While preparing for the entrance test, aspirants must focus on memorising current events and solving reasoning and problem solving questions.
The registration dates for XET 2025 are March 1 to 31, 2025. Aspirants can apply online on the institute's website. The XET 2025 application form will cost them INR 2500 (inclusive of GST). Application fee payment can be made thrugh credit cards, debit cards, net banking or UPI. It is advised that the aspirants first check the eligibility requirements before applying. Undergraduate degree holders who are 35 years of age or younger are eligible.
Candidates will receive the admit card via email at least a week before the exam date. They are advised to check their inbox along with their spam or junk mail so that they do not miss out on the admit card. Candidates are also advised to preserve their admit card carefully as only this document will be accepted in all further transactions between them and XIC.
XET Syllabus 2026 for the Subjective Section
The questions in the subjective section of the XIC OET exam will be based on media. The test will assess the creativity, social values, writing skills, etc, of the candidates. Some questions will also be related to the course the candidate is applying for. As the MCQs and subjective questions both will be asked in the exam, candidates are advised to begin with their XIC Entrance Test (XET) Preparation well in advance.
