Q:   What type of questions are asked in MCQ section of the FTII JET?
A: 

According to the official brochure released by Film and Television Institute of India the question papert consists of two MCQ sections. Part A consists of 20 marks and Part B consists of 30 marks. Candidates need to attempt all the questions. There will be two papers - Paper 1 and 2. Paper 1 will be divided into two parts A & B. Part A will be single answer type consisting of 20 marks and Part B will MCQ based of again 20 marks. The paper 2 will be descriptive in nature and will be of 60 marks.

Q:   I am 18 years old. Can I apply for FTII JET entrance exam?
A: 

The Film and Television Institute of India lays down the age limit for admission to offered courses through FTII JET entrance exam in its admission prospectus. An 18 year old student is not eligible to apply for FTII JET exam. The minimum age requirement for the exam is 21 years.

Q:   Where can I find the list of exam centres for FTII JET entrance exam?
A: 

The Film and Television Institute of India shares the list of exam cities for written test in the FTII JET admission prospectus. The detailed address of the exam centre will be mentioned in the admit card of applicants.

Q:   Can I get a scholarship to get into FTII?
A: 

The institute offers the following scholarships based on merit and performance credits during the students' time there. 

  1. Entrance Exam Merit - Given to toppers in each of the film wing courses; INR 12,500 per year. 
  2. 1st Semester Merit - Given to the first 3 toppers; Common Module (Editing, Sound Recording & Sound Design, Art Direction & Production Design and Screenplay Writing); 1st topper get INR 24,000, 2nd gets INR 21,500 and the 3rd gets INR 19,000 every year
  3. Given to acting topper; INR 24,000 / year
  4. Given to screenplay writing topper; INR 24,000 / year
  5. 2nd to 5th Semester Merit - Given to the 1st and 2nd topper of each course; INR 13,500 and INR 11,500 respectively.

Q:   Is the FTII JET conducted in offline mode or online?
A: 

The Film and Television of Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET) is conducted in offline i.e. pen and paper mode. The question and answer booklet will be distributed to the candidate at least 10 minutes before the commencement of exam. The question paper will be MCQ-based and candidates will have to mark the correct option in the answer booklet.

No, as application form for FTII JET entrance exam is released in online form an applicant cannot pay the fee in cash. The online form fee for FTII JET exam can be paid via credit cards, debit cards, or UPI.

Q:   What types of questions are asked in the FTII JET exam?
A: 

The FTII JET Stage 1 exam has two papers. Paper 1 includes multiple choice question and paper 2 includes descriptive questions. In second part of FTII JET Satge 1 question paper, candidates will have to answer questions in short notes and describe the given sketches and photographs.

Q:   Can the request for change of exam center be made after the release of the FTII JET admit card?
A: 

Once the application form is submitted, the candidate cannot change the exam center at any stage. The change of examination center will be entirely at the discretion of the exam conducting authority and the candidates will be liable to follow the instructions.

Q:   What is the duration of the FTII JET exam?
A: 

As per the official exam pattern of the FTII JET exam, the time duration of Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test part I is 3 hours or 180 minutes. The total marks will be 100. There will be two papers - Paper 1 and 2. Paper 1 will be divided into two parts A & B. Part A will be single answer type consisting of 20 marks and Part B will MCQ based of again 20 marks. Q:   How much time is sufficient for FTII JET preparation?
A: 

There is no ideal time for candidates to prepare for FTII JET exam. As there are two stages in exam which are conducted in different months and have different criteria, their required preparation time are different.

For stage 1, students must start preparing for written test, at least 6 months before D-day. As Stage 2 is practical exam, there is no time limit for its preparation.

Q:   What is the marking scheme for FTII JET?
A: 

The FTII JET exam total marks are 100 marks. In Part A of Paper I: one mark is awarded to each right question and 0.25 is deducted on the wrong answer. In Part B of Paper I: two marks are awarded to each right question. However, the questions may have one or more right answers, so candidates need to select all the correct options, failing which they will be given partial marks. This part also has the provision of negative marking.

Q:   What if I have not completed graduation by the time of FTII JET? Can I still apply?
A: 

If you have not completed your graduation or if you are waiting for your graduation results during FTII JET exam, you can still appear for test. But, you will have to submit proof of graduation qualification during document verification process. If you fail to do so, your application will be rejected, no matter if you qualify the test.
