Candidate must have passed Secondary School Examination (Matriculation/ 10th or equivalent examination) from a recognised statutory Board and must have obtained at least 40% marks in 10th class in case of being an open merit candidate and at least 37% marks in case of being a reserved category and have passed Science and Math subjects in 10th class examination. Candidate must have passed Secondary School Examination (Matriculation or equivalent examination) from a recognised statutory Board. Candidates appearing/appeared in 10th class examination up to the last date of submission of online applications can also apply. Candidate must be a resident of either UT of Jammu & Kashmir or UT of Ladakh. There is no upper age limit.

Yes, students can get admission in NIT Srinagar without JEE Mains. But this is possible only for non-BTech programmes. To get BTech admission at any NIT, JEE Mains is mandatory. For courses, such as MSc, MTech, MBA, other exams are accepted. But for BTech, a student can't join NIT Srinagar without JEE Mains.

The University was established as the Central University of Jammu and Kashmir. It was established along with 15 other Central Universities by an Act of Parliament in 2009. The accepted entrance exams are JKCET, JEE Main,  CUET, and others. Candidates applying through CUET must first visit the official website and register for the CUET exam. Then, appear for the CUET exam. In the next step, students must apply on the Jammu University official website with valid scores. In the next step, students must take part in the interview and various other rounds involved in the Jammu University admission.
