at NIFT Chennai, Taramani

NIFT Chennai cutoff 2025 has been released for different categories of students belonging to the General AI quota. Considering the Round 1 cutoff, the closing ranks for General AI category students varied between 130 and 1420. NIFT Chennai offers a BDes programme to students at the UG level. It is offered in full-time mode for a duration of 4 years. The college offers this programme in several specialisations such as Fashion Design, Accessory Design, Fashion Communication, etc.

Yes, the NIFT Chennai offers a four-year full time degree course in BDes. This course is taught across six specialisations, namely Fashion Design, Leather Design, Knitwear Design, Accessory Design, Textile Design and Fashion Communication.  Admission to the programme, entirely based on the NIFT entrance exam.

Candidates who have twelve years of school education with minimum of five subjects by the National Open School or from a recognised board are eligible for the BDes at NIFT Chennai. Additionally, as per the Institution's guidelines, candidate's maximum age should be less than 24 years (5 years relaxation in upper age for people from reserved categories). Now candidates are only required to appear for the NIFT entrance exam for BDes admission. 

Yes, NIFT Chennai campus is safe for girls and boys. The college campus is located in Taramani, Chennai. It has a good connection with roads and public transports. CCTV cameras are installed in the campus to keep a check on students safety. 

National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai is a government college. It is one of the 18 campuses of NIFT and has ranked in the top 5 in the country for the 3rd consecutive year in 2025. 

To join NIFT Chennai, candidates need to appear for the Creative Ability Test and the General Ability Test. 

Candidates who manage to clear the entrance tests will be called for a GD and PI round. 

Candidates who perform well in these rounds will be alloted seats in their preferred courses offered by NIFT Chennai.

NIFT Chennai courses are offered to students at the UG, PG, and Diploma levels. The college mainly offers courses in streams such as Design, Management, Technology, etc. Some of the popular courses offered at the college are BDes, BFTech,  MFM, etc. 

Students have to meet the National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai eligibility to get admission. The common eligibility is as below:

• NIFT Chennai PG eligibility - UG degree from a recognised university
