Chitkara University HP campus. As many people would already know that Chitkara University is stringent in academics. There was a Holi break in our college from March 7 to 11 but as we all know, due to COVID-19 the campus remains closed till further notice. To make sure our studies do not get affected our college decided to shift to online platforms so that students could study at their homes. For our Java course, regular online classes are being conducted on Go To Webinar.

Similarly, for Operating System we were provided with a free account on the E-Box website which has video lectures and quizzes related to our course. The other courses/ assignments are being uploaded on Google Classroom.

To make sure we understand the topics, our college regularly takes tests. In my opinion, it is a good method by giving the test helps in understanding the topic more clearly. However, for some of the subjects we get study material and assignments which I think is not very effective as no one is interested in reading the same.

With these online classes, our syllabus of two major subjects, i.e. Java and Operating Systems is completed.

To cover the syllabus, our teachers were available on Google Classroom to clear the doubts of the students.

We regularly get assignments with a deadline of one week. We have to make assignments on MS Word and submit the same on Google Classroom. For our Java course which is conducted on Go to Webinar, we get the recorded video lecture so in case for some reason if we were unable to attend that lecture we can watch the same later. In these difficult times, our college is making the right use of technology so that students should not have to suffer in their academics.

Similarly, for the first-year students, our college has made a tie-up with course era for their Advance C course so that the students could understand the coding concept more clearly and easily.

The professors are very helping the students in every possible way. They frequently ask the students if they have any doubt in any particular course or they need any help to cover the topics that were delivered during the starting of this semester.

Apart from studies, our college has started Tele-counselling for the students if they need any kind of mental, physical health advise which I think is a very great initiative to boost the morale and motivate the students as in these difficult people often get demotivated or depressed.

Not only this, each staff member of the campus has contributed their one day salary to the relief funds and they encourage us to contribute by helping the poor people of our country, etc. and also advise us to stay safe.
