How a little motivation can change your life: Ahad Ali
Technology has always fascinated me. Even when I was a student of grade 8th, I was very interested in knowing about how machines work, how technology has grown over time and how has man been able to develop all this. So I had a clear picture in my mind that it is engineering which is going to be my cup of tea.
I opted for science as my subject in 11th grade, scored good in 12th CBSE board exams and when started exploring a few colleges, I came across Maharishi Markandeshwar Mullana's website. With the percentage I've scored in my 12th boards, I was offered a 50% scholarship on the course I had wished to pursue, that is Mechanical Engineering. Happily, I became a part of MM (Deemed to be University) after getting to know about the facilities provided here.
I had no clue of what all things were queued up for me to explore. I got to meet people from almost every part of India and made some of the best friends that I'm ever going to get in the rest of my life.
Apart from studies, the clubs and societies of MM(DU) are top-notch. I never knew that the person who had a phobia of speaking in front of the crowd could become a national level debater. All thanks to the University’s Literary Club "Expressions" of which I was amongst the founding members, under the guidance of well-experienced and friendly faculty members. Faculties here had motivated me to learn and grow and from there, I have never looked back. My personality has changed completely.
I got a chance to serve as the General Secretary of the Literary Club at MM(DU) and later became the President of the same. If this was not enough, I got a chance to represent my college at the national level declamation competition at the Jammu University. Furthermore, I got the opportunity to work as the Managing Editor of our college's magazine MMAVERICK.
I won the ward of the best speaker in panel discussions, bagged 1st position in a state-level memoir writing competition, and turned out as the state topper in national level essay writing competition as well. Further, if I count the opportunities and experience, I've gained in extreme from MM(DU) and it'll go on and on.
I also worked as the vice-president of the placement cell at the university; organised and coordinated several college functions and fests. I got a chance to get trained under BHEL Turbine Manufacturing department and made several projects on regenerative energy utilisation in automobile.
I can totally say that MM(DU) has transformed my personality and the results I got at the end of this journey is the proof for the same. I got placed in world's largest Edtech startup BYJU'S at an annual package of 7+3 LPA. This is just the tip of an iceberg; my journey to success at Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University) can’t be expressed in words anymore.
