IIT Bhubaneswar MTech Admission 2020: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria below:

Indian Nationals, NRIs & Foreign Nationals

• These candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA in a 10-point scale in BTech/BE or equivalent degree as applicable to the programme. A 5% relaxation of marks in the qualifying degree examination would be granted to the SC/ST/PwD candidates.
• Candidates must have a valid GATE 2020 score.
• This is applicable to both regular & sponsored candidates.

Sponsored Candidates

• The candidates sponsored by DRDO selected through an approved internal procedure of DRDO will be admitted to the appropriate discipline.
• Other sponsored candidates who have served continuously for a minimum period of three years in the sponsoring organisation are eligible for admission to the MTech programmes.

How to Apply Online?

• Register to the online-portal by providing valid email id and password.
• Log in again to the portal by entering the mail id and password provided at the time of registration.
• Provide relevant information in all the required fields
• Review your details once again
• If the information is correct then click on the “Save & Submit” button to submit the application form.
• Female candidates are not required to pay any application fee and they can take a print out immediately after submitting the application form.
• Male candidates are required to pay the required application fee as per the following steps
• Click on the “Pay Application Fee” Button present at the “User Home” Tab
• Follow the payment instructions
• After Successful payment, you will get an SB Collect Reference Number. Note it down.
• Click on the “Confirm & Submit Payment Details for ” button present at the “User Home” Tab and provide details of fee payment mode, fee payment date, fee payment SB Collect Reference Number and then submit.
• After completing the above steps, you can take a print of the application form for future reference
• After the successful submission of the application online, your application number will be displayed. Please note the same and include this number in all future communications. The number will also be available on your user page.

Note: Application without valid Payment SB Collect Reference Number will be automatically discarded.

IIT Bhubaneswar MTech Admission 2020: Shortlisting and Selection Criteria

Indian Nationals, NRIs & Foreign Nationals

• The shortlisting of these candidates for admission into MTech programmes will be based on written test, viva voice interview & GATE score.
• The shortlisting of regular candidates for admission to MTech programmes will be based on their GATE score only.
• The selection of regular candidates is based on the score with 70% weightage to the GATE score and 30% weightage to the performance in the written test and interview. The Written Test and Interview shall be given equal weightage of 15% each.

Sponsored Candidates

A sponsored candidate with a valid GATE Score will have to undergo the same shortlisting & selection process as those of the regular candidates.
