JoSAA round 4 cutoff 2026: The JoSAA Round 4 cutoff 2026 will be released by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) on July 10, 2026, at 5:00 PM. The JoSAA round 4 cut off will be released alongside Round 4 of JoSAA seat allotment results at josaa.nic.in.

The cutoffs will consist of the JoSAA Opening Ranks (OR) and Closing Ranks (CR) across 138 premier engineering institutions including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).

With the JoSAA 5 allotment cycle, cutoffs undergo stark changes compared to early mock allocations or Round 1 metrics. The primary drivers of these shifts are as follows -

  • With Round 5 being the absolute final round for all institutions, seat withdrawals slow down heavily during Round 4.

  • NITs apply dual Home State (HS) and Other State (OS) quotas, drastically varying closing ranks. IITs evaluate candidates strictly via All India Ranks (AIR) derived from JEE Advanced.

  • Highly sought-after programs like Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Artificial Intelligence typically experience minimal to zero rank movement by Round 4.

Steps to Check JoSAA Round 4 Cutoffs

Candidates can track individual course closures by accessing the JoSAA eServices Portal - https://josaa.nic.in/or-cr/, via following steps:

  1. Visit josaa.nic.in.

  2. Click on "eServices" tab located on primary navigation menu from homepage.

  3. Choose "OR-CR 2026" link.

  4. Select the "Round 4" from dropdown filter.

  5. Select specific Institute Type (e.g., IIT or NIT), Institute Name, and Academic Programme.

  6. Enter designated Seat Type or Reservation Category to generate targeted cutoff matrix.

As choice-filling sequences are locked prior to Round 1, candidates cannot rearrange their college preference order. Upon checking Round 4 results, students must immediately exercise one of three options:

  • Freeze: Choose “Freeze” if you are satisfied with your Round 4 allotment. This locks your seat and removes you from subsequent upgrade tracks.

  • Float: Select this if you accept current allotment but wish to remain eligible for a higher-preferred choice across any institute in final round. Use this if your rank is highly competitive with nearby closing ranks.

  • Slide: Opt for this if you accept current seat but want to upgrade to a better academic branch within exact same institute during Round 5.
